Telangana Assures Adequate LPG Stocks, Orders Daily Monitoring to Ensure Uninterrupted Supply
Hyderabad, March 2026 : The Government of Telangana on Friday assured that the state has sufficient stocks of LPG to meet current demand and that consumers will continue to receive uninterrupted supplies despite the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
The assurance came after a high-level review meeting chaired by K. Ramakrishna Rao at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat. The meeting reviewed the stock position, supply chain, and distribution of LPG cylinders across the state.
According to an official release, the meeting involved representatives from major oil marketing companies and officials from the Civil Supplies Department. Detailed discussions were held on LPG availability, storage levels, transportation logistics, and anticipated future demand.
Officials informed the meeting that Telangana currently has around 1.29 crore domestic LPG connections and that adequate stocks are available to meet the present requirements. They also confirmed that cylinders are being supplied regularly to essential institutions, including hospitals and government hostels.
The Chief Secretary directed officials to ensure that the distribution of LPG cylinders to domestic consumers continues without disruption. He instructed authorities to monitor the supply situation daily and take strict action to prevent black marketing.
Rao also called for increased vigilance at LPG distributorships and agencies, directing law enforcement authorities to maintain oversight to ensure smooth and transparent supply.
Officials noted that there are currently 810 LPG distributorship centres operating across the state, supplying cylinders to consumers in both urban and rural areas. The Chief Secretary advised oil companies to maintain timely deliveries and strengthen coordination with government departments to ensure the smooth functioning of the supply network.
Representatives from major public sector oil companies—including Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited—attended the meeting along with Stephen Ravindra and other senior officials.
Meanwhile, N. Uttam Kumar Reddy also reiterated that there is no shortage of cooking gas in the state. He held a video conference with district authorities, including Collectors, Superintendents of Police, and Police Commissioners, to review LPG supply, summer drinking water preparedness, and the implementation of the 99-Day Praja Palana–Pragati Pranalika programme.
The minister instructed officials to ensure uninterrupted LPG supply to households as well as to hospitals and government hostels.
District Collectors were also directed to prevent black marketing, address public concerns, and remove misconceptions about any possible shortage so that consumers do not face inconvenience.
