True Promise, Firm Delivery—We Fulfilled what We Promised: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has stated that farmers are our heritage and the true architects of the nation’s destiny. The state government is committed to the prosperity of farmers. To strengthen the farming community, the year 2026 is being celebrated as the ‘Krishak Kalyan Varsh’. The government’s focus is on linking agriculture with modern technology, innovation and value addition. He said that, along with increasing crop production, farmers are being encouraged to adopt Gaupalan, animal husbandry, fisheries, horticulture and agriculture-based industries to enhance their income. The Chief Minister said, “True promise and firm delivery is the pledge of our government. Whatever we promised to farmers, we have fulfilled.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that prosperity must reach from the fields to the factories, and only then will farmers become prosperous and happy. A prosperous farmer will play a significant role in building Developed India @ 2047. The Chief Minister addressed a felicitation ceremony organised by farmers at the Chief Minister’s Residence on Monday.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that to ensure adequate irrigation water for farmers, the state government is rapidly advancing the river-linking campaign and new irrigation projects. In this direction, approval has been granted for the Ahu Medium Irrigation Project worth ₹167.21 crore and the construction of Hadai Talab worth ₹24.88 crore for the Agar Malwa district. With these two projects worth nearly ₹200 crore, irrigation water will reach the fields of Agar Malwa district, and more than 4,800 hectares of land will be irrigated. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was warmly welcomed by Farmers and expressed gratitude for the gifted projects. The Chief Minister, responding to a demand raised by public representatives, also assured that the names of certain villages in the Barod area of Agar Malwa district with unusual names would be changed. He said that he would soon visit Agar Malwa and interact directly with farmers.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that after being connected to the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, Agar Malwa has gained new momentum for development. A new highway from Jhalawar in Rajasthan will also directly connect Baba Mahakal in Ujjain and Maa Baglamukhi Dham in Nalkheda, facilitating the movement of pilgrims and improving the transportation of goods. He said that the government has increased the evaluation and compensation amount for horticultural fruit-bearing plants. The compensation rate for the district’s renowned ODOP product – oranges has been increased from ₹4,500 per tree to ₹17,500 per tree, which will greatly benefit orange growers in Agar Malwa.
The state government has also provided the benefit of the Bhavantar Payment Scheme to soybean farmers, and mustard has now been included in the scheme, bringing further relief to farmers. Wheat-producing farmers are receiving a bonus of ₹40 per quintal, with procurement being carried out at ₹2,625 per quintal. The government is also committed to 100 per cent procurement of tur (pigeon pea).
Agar Malwa MLA Shri Madhu Gehlot said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, every corner of Madhya Pradesh is being equipped with irrigation facilities, and Agar Malwa district is also benefiting from this transformation. During the Krishak Kalyan Varsh, the Chief Minister has approved irrigation projects and pond development works worth ₹200 crore for the prosperity of farmers in the district. He said that efforts are being made to promote industrialisation by attracting investors to establish units in Agar Malwa. The establishment of a Food Chain McCain company unit in the district will create employment opportunities for thousands of youth.
Shri Gehlot also informed that the construction of Bhagwan Shri Baijnath Dham, worth ₹18,000 crore, is underway in Agar Malwa. The district has also received the gift of Gokul Gram, two new colleges and several gaushalas.
District President Shri Om Malviya, Shri Mehrban Singh, and a large number of farmers and party workers from Agar Malwa district were present at the felicitation ceremony.
