Union Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu meets heads of office in Champhai District; visits Mualkawi Solid Waste Management Centre

Champhai, May 2026: Union Minister of State for Housing & Urban Affairs Pu Tokhan Sahu met with various heads of office today at the Circuit House Conference Hall, Champhai.

This programme started with a presentation from Sub-Deputy Commissioner Mr. Lalchhuanawma Ralte on various ongoing schemes and policies under Housing & Urban Affairs in Champhai such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U), Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM) , Atul Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and many more. After the presentation, Minister Shri Tokhan Sahu interacted with various heads of office, asking them questions on their activities and the status of various key indicators in Champhai. The Minister spoke about various government schemes and policies that were relatively unknown but could be of great help for the people of Champhai, and urged the attendees to look into these schemes. He also urges government officials to keep up the good work and ensure that these schemes reach as many as possible.

After this meeting, Minister Shri Tokhan Sahu visited Mualkawi Solid Waste Management Centre, an ongoing project under AMRUT 2.0. This project is expected to be operational very shortly.
