‘Chief Minister – Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’ Will Continue for the Next Five Years – Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis
Solapur : The state government has launched the Chief Minister – Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana to empower women financially. Money has been directly deposited into the accounts of 2 crore 20 lakh sisters across the state. This government prioritizes women’s empowerment, and as our beloved sisters benefit from this initiative, they experience happiness and satisfaction. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured that the government will continue this scheme for the next five years to sustain this happiness and satisfaction.
Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis was providing guidance on this occasion, which was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, MLAs Sarveshree Vijaykumar Deshmukh, Subhash Deshmukh, Rajendra Raut, Sadhan Awatade, Sachin Kalyanshetty, Sanjay Shinde, Shahaji Bapu Patil, Ram Satpute, Mahavitaran Chairman and Managing Director Lokesh Chandra, Collector Kumar Ashirwad, Solapur Municipal Commissioner Shital Ugle Teli, Solapur City Police Commissioner M. Rajkumar, District Superintendent of Police Atul Kulkarni, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Kuldeep Jangam, Public Welfare Chief Minister Dr. Amol Shinde, Jyoti Waghmare, and other dignitaries.
Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis further stated that under this scheme, Rs. 1,500 has been directly deposited into the bank accounts of the sisters for the months of June and July. As Bhai Dooj is approaching in November, the state government has decided to deposit the money for November directly into the bank accounts of the sisters this month.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the Lakhpati Didi scheme for women’s empowerment across the country, enabling lakhs of women to become lakhpatis by starting their own businesses. In line with this, the state government is also implementing a plan for women’s empowerment. In the first phase, 25 lakh lakhpati didis will be created in the state, with a goal of reaching 1 crore lakhpati didis in the next phase, ensuring that every woman earns at least one lakh rupees on her own, Fadnavis announced.
All UAPS (Urban Agricultural Pump Schemes) in the state will be solarized, with a fund of Rs. 3,366 crores approved for this purpose. This initiative plans to provide electricity for agricultural pumps during the day, benefiting farmers with irrigation facilities. Under the Solar Agriculture Pump Yojana, farmers will contribute 10 percent of the cost to install solar pumps, eliminating their electricity costs for the next 25 years. Additionally, the government is providing a 100 percent fee waiver for girls in higher education, and under the Ladki Yojana, the government deposits money in the name of a girl child as soon as she is born. A 50% discount on tickets for women in ST buses has also been announced, Fadnavis informed.
Government Committed to Provide Justice to Every Section of Society – Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar
The state government is implementing various welfare schemes to provide justice to every section of society. Among these, the Chief Minister – Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana has become particularly popular. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar noted that as the financial condition of our state is strong, this scheme will continue in the future. He informed that a power bill waiver scheme has been introduced for farmers, benefiting 44 lakh farmers in the state with a power bill waiver worth Rs. 15,000 crores.
The role and contribution of women in nation-building is significant. In Indian culture, women are regarded as a form of power. Therefore, the government has initiated the Chief Minister – Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana to make common women of the state economically self-reliant. Additionally, there is a plan to provide three free gas cylinders to women annually, ensuring their satisfaction and supporting their efforts to achieve financial independence through the Ladki Bahin Yojana, Pawar stated.
The state government has lifted the ban on onion and rice exports. In September 2024, the price of milk was increased by Rs. 5 per liter, and it has now risen by Rs. 7 to Rs. 35 per liter. The government is committed to serving the common people and farmers, prioritizing their interests. The remuneration for Police Patils and Kotwals has been doubled, and significant increases have been made for Asha workers, group promoters, and anganwadi workers. The salaries of Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch have also been doubled, underscoring the government’s commitment to providing justice to the common man, Pawar concluded.
The dignitaries inaugurated the tapestry prepared by the district administration in accordance with the Chief Minister – Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana and the various sub-irrigation schemes being implemented in the district, as well as other related schemes.
Bhoomipujan of UPA Irrigation Schemes Solar Energy Project
The Bhoomipuja for 242 government and cooperative sub-irrigation solar energy projects in the state was conducted by Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Devendra Fadnavis, alongside Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Additionally, various projects worth Rs. 2,773 crores were launched to empower and expand the infrastructure of the power distribution system, aimed at delivering electricity to farmers under the Chief Minister’s Solar Agriculture Channel Scheme.
Distribution of Checks to Beloved Sisters
A total of Rs. 481 crore has been allocated to all eligible beneficiaries in the district under the Chief Minister – Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar presented checks to 15 women beneficiaries as a representative gesture. Checks and certificates were also distributed to women beneficiaries of other schemes, including the Pink E-Rickshaw, Lake Ladki Scheme, and Free Gas Cylinder initiative.
