Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has stated that the state government’s administrative framework and its employees play a foundational role in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat by creating a Viksit Gujarat. CM further remarked that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has garnered the trust of the people through exemplary governance and welfare initiatives. This trust has led the citizens to elect him as Prime Minister for a third consecutive term. The role of government employees is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and seamless delivery of welfare programs and governance policies to the public, particularly to the common man. The Chief Minister was addressing the Inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA) campus in Gandhinagar. Spanning 7,563 square meters, this state-of-the-art facility has been built at an estimated cost of ₹36 crore.
On October 7, 2001, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was sworn in as Chief Minister, marking the beginning of a transformative journey in Gujarat’s development. The 23rd anniversary of this governance success is being celebrated across the state as Vikas Saptah from October 7. As part of this week-long celebration, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the newly constructed, state-of-the-art SPIPA (Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration) building in Gandhinagar and virtually laid the foundation stone for a new Officers’ Hostel building at SPIPA in Ahmedabad.
The Chief Minister noted that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has consistently demonstrated a commitment to the well-being and prosperity of the people. He emphasized that the PM’s vision of inclusive development, captured in the motto “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” has been realized through effective collaboration between the administrative wing and elected representatives. The Chief Minister stated that the successful management of the challenging situation during the cyclone serves as a clear example of positive outcomes that can be achieved when the people, administration, and elected representatives work together in harmony. The Chief Minister further stated that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has transformed government employees into Karmyogis, instilling in them a sense of empathy for public welfare and fostering a profound connection between them and the people they serve. He also emphasized that many dedicated government employees across various departments have taken the initiative to streamline public welfare tasks, driven by the sentiment of “this is my responsibility, and I must fulfil it.”
The Chief Minister emphasized that institutions like SPIPA play a crucial role in capacity building for Karmyogis. He expressed the expectation that those who undergo training at such institutions will continuously apply their learnings on the ground, remaining steadfast in their duties. The Chief Minister conveyed his confidence that officials and Karmyogis serving in various government departments would diligently fulfil their assigned duties and responsibilities, contributing to Viksit Gujarat through public welfare initiatives.
Chief Secretary Shri Raj Kumar, along with Shri Mohammad Shahid, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Administrative Reforms and Training Department and Director General of SPIPA, Deputy Director General Shri Vijay Kharadi, along with other senior officials and trainee employees of SPIPA remained present during the event.
In his address, Chief Secretary Shri Raj Kumar emphasized that the Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA) building is not merely a structure of cement and concrete but a facility where state government employees receive various types of training aimed at enhancing their sense of “civic service.” The newly constructed building in Gandhinagar encourages senior, experienced, and well-trained officers of the Gujarat government to provide effective training to Karmyogis. He further added that with the new SPIPA centre in Gandhinagar, the proximity to various international and national institutions in the region will allow expert professors from these institutions to serve as visiting faculty, thereby facilitating training programs.
The newly inaugurated SPIPA building in Gandhinagar features an assembly hall with a seating capacity of 190, a seminar hall with 100 seats, three skill development rooms with 50 seats each, four faculty rooms, and three discussion rooms. Additionally, the facility includes 30 residential rooms, a canteen, and a recreation area. Director General of SPIPA Shri Mohammad Shahid welcomed everyone and provided detailed information about the institute’s operations and achievements. Deputy Director General Shri Vijay Kharadi delivered the vote of thanks. The event was attended by Gandhinagar District Collector Shri Mehul Dave, officials from SPIPA, and various government officers and employees. Additionally, around 5,000 trainees participated in the event virtually.
