New Infrastructure Unveiled in Kollathur: ₹3.66 Crore Investment

In Kolaathur, with a budget of Rs. 3.66 crores, the Chief Minister inaugurated various development projects including three polytechnic institutions. Additionally, with an investment of Rs. 3.81 crores, 77 solar streetlights, a skill training center, and a library were also opened. A pond repair project worth Rs. 1.47 crores was also inspected.

The Chief Minister provided training to 107 women who completed their training at Anitha Achievers Academy and also provided sewing machines, 350 tailoring machines, and medical equipment for 2,493 patients treated at the government hospital.

The Chief Minister’s initiatives include opening a “Co-working Space” and a “Skill Development Center” under the “Kendra Development Scheme” with a budget of Rs. 2.85 crores.

On November 4, 2024, the Chief Minister opened the Kolaathur town hall under the development plan with an investment of Rs. 3.66 crores, along with the three polytechnic institutions which had a budget of Rs. 80.90 lakhs, as well as 77 solar streetlights. The budget for the skill training center was Rs. 43 lakhs, and the library was valued at Rs. 38.50 lakhs.

Moreover, an investment of Rs. 1.47 crores was allocated for the pond repair project. At the Kendra Development Center, the Chief Minister opened the “Skill Development Center” and provided sewing machines for the women. The women were also given access to a co-working space and other resources to facilitate their skill development.

The “Skill Development Center” aims to support students preparing for competitive exams like UPSC and TNPSC by providing a conducive learning environment and adequate facilities. The center can accommodate 51 students simultaneously, ensuring a collaborative learning atmosphere.

Furthermore, a separate section for male and female students has been designated for working on various tasks, creating an inclusive environment conducive to learning. There are three meeting rooms, two of which accommodate four people each and one that can hold six, along with areas for food and refreshments.

The Tamil Nadu government’s special initiative under the “Chief Minister’s Projects” has been established in Kolaathur, highlighting the commitment to enhancing educational and skill development infrastructure.

The project for solar streetlights has been initiated in Kolaathur, with an investment of Rs. 3 crores to install 77 solar streetlights.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated three polytechnic institutions, along with the skill training center and library. Under the Kendra Development Scheme, the projects were inaugurated with funding allocations specified.

In Kolaathur, the investments will contribute significantly to local development and improve educational facilities, ensuring a brighter future for the community.

The various initiatives and projects aim to provide a robust framework for youth empowerment and development in Kollathur.
