KVK Hnahthial Conducts Training on “Post-Harvest Management of Locally Produced Crops for Women in Self-Help Groups”
Hnahthial : A five-day training program on “Post-Harvest Management of Locally Produced Crops for Women in Self-Help Groups” was organized at the KVK Hnahthial training hall.
The training was facilitated by Ms. Zonunkimi Ralte, Subject Matter Specialist (Home Science), under the supervision of Dr. Henry Saplalrinliana, Senior Scientist & Head, who addressed the participants with words of encouragement and shared insights on the importance of the training.
This program is a part of the North East Council (NEC) project titled “Providing Key Identified Services at Bunghmun Block of Lunglei District.” Women from various Self-Help Groups (SHGs) representing villages in Bunghmun Block, including Bungtlang W, Changpui, Tleu, Sertlangpui, Sesawm, Buarpui, S. Lungdai, Kawlhawk, and Thenhlum, participated in the training. A total of 15 participants attended the program. Training materials were also distributed during the sessions.
The training aimed to equip participants with practical skills and theoretical knowledge on improving crop value through local produce preservation and innovative practices. PowerPoint presentations and practical demonstrations were conducted to ensure participants could apply the knowledge in their respective SHGs effectively.
As part of the program, an exposure visit to the Mizoram Food Processing Research Training Centre (MPRTC), Seling, is scheduled for the final day to provide participants with further hands-on learning opportunities.
