Haryana State Election Commission Issues Directives for Updating Voter Lists in 5 Municipal Corporations, 3 Municipal Councils, and 26 Municipal Committees

Final Publication of Voter Lists to be Held on January 6, 2025

Chandigarh – The Haryana State Election Commission has issued directives to update voter lists for the wards in 5 Municipal Corporations, 3 Municipal Councils, and 26 Municipal Committees.

A spokesperson of the Commission informed that the voter lists for the wards in the Municipal Corporations of Ambala, Faridabad, Gurugram, Manesar (Gurugram), and Sonipat, as well as for the Municipal Councils of Ambala Sadar, Pataudi, Jatauli Mandi, and Sirsa, will be updated.

Additionally, the voter lists for the wards in several Municipal Committees will also be updated. These include Barara in Ambala, Bawani Khera, Loharu, and Siwani in Bhiwani district, Jhakhal Mandi in Fatehabad district, Farrukhnagar in Gurugram district, Narnaund in Hisar district, Beri in Jhajjar district, Julana and Safidon in Jind district, Kalayat, Siwan, and Pundri in Kaithal district, Indri, Nilokheri, Assandh, and Taraori in Karnal district, Ismailabad and Ladwa in Kurukshetra district, Ateli Mandi and Nandina in Mahendergarh district, Tauru in Nuh district, Hathin in Palwal district, Kalanaur in Rohtak district, Kharkhoda in Sonipat district, and Radaur in Yamunanagar district.

The spokesperson further informed that from December 9 to December 16, 2024, the voter lists and all supplements prepared by the Election Commission of India will be distributed in the wards of the above-mentioned Municipal Corporations, Councils, and Committees. The draft voter lists will be published on December 17, 2024, inviting claims and objections. Claims and objections will need to be submitted to the Revising Authority by December 23, 2024. The Revising Authority will address the claims and objections by December 27, 2024.

The final date to appeal against the decisions of the Revising Authority to the Deputy Commissioner is December 31, 2024. The Deputy Commissioner will resolve appeals by January 3, 2025. The final publication of the updated voter lists will be made on January 6, 2025, added the spokesperson.
