Ensure Every Possible Effort to Make Jaipur Rank First in Cleanliness Survey – District Collector’s Directives
Jaipur : District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni has directed officials to ensure maximum public participation and make every possible effort to secure Jaipur’s top ranking in the cleanliness survey. A meeting was held on Wednesday at the District Collectorate Auditorium to discuss awareness campaigns related to the cleanliness survey, with stakeholders and officials from relevant departments reviewing the preparations.
During the meeting, Dr. Soni instructed officials to extensively promote the cleanliness campaign and turn it into a mass movement. He emphasized strengthening door-to-door waste collection, night-time cleaning, and waste disposal systems while ensuring the implementation of all prescribed standards. Additionally, he directed officials to maintain cleanliness within office premises and creatively manage waste disposal or reuse it under the “Waste to Wonder” theme.
The District Collector also instructed officials to install an adequate number of garbage bins across the city and ensure their proper maintenance. He stressed the importance of sanitation in slum areas, strict enforcement of open defecation bans, regular cleaning of drains, timely waste collection from dumping points, and maintaining cleanliness at religious and tourist sites.
Furthermore, Dr. Soni urged private coaching center operators and other stakeholders to actively participate in Jaipur’s cleanliness efforts. He instructed them to ensure proper sanitation in and around their coaching institutes.
The meeting was attended by Jaipur Municipal Corporation Greater Commissioner Smt. Rukmani Riar, Jaipur Municipal Corporation Heritage Commissioner Shri Arun Kumar Hasija, Additional District Collector Shri Mukesh Kumar Moond, along with officials from various departments, representatives from coaching institutions, and other stakeholders.
