Social Welfare Minister Inaugurates Octave Mizo Choir’s “Pawnto Hla & Pipu Zai” Music Video

Aizawl – Yesterday, the Social Welfare & Tribal Affairs Minister, Pi Lalrinpuii, officially launched the Mizo Octave Choir’s Music Video “PAWNTO HLA & PIPU ZAI” at HYVE Aizawl City Hall, J.L Building, Tuikual South. The event was organized by Pu Lalsiamkima, Lecturer in Music, ATC, under the Tourism Department’s initiative.

During the inauguration ceremony, Minister Pi Lalrinpuii expressed her appreciation and encouragement, stating that Octave Mizo Choir has introduced a fresh perspective in Mizo choral tradition. She highlighted the hard work and dedication of the choir’s leaders, which has contributed to the success of contemporary Mizo music. She further acknowledged the choir members’ talent and commitment, emphasizing that their contributions significantly uphold Mizo cultural identity.

The minister also mentioned that the launch of this album is not the final milestone but rather a stepping stone for greater achievements. She extended her best wishes for the continued success of Octave Mizo Choir and their future initiatives.

The Octave Mizo Choir Music Video project was undertaken by the Tourism Department with an estimated budget of Rs. 2,80,860/-. It was designed to promote and showcase various aspects of Mizo culture and heritage through music.
