CM Devendra Fadnavis Inaugurates Single-Window System for Film Shooting Permits
Presentation on Cultural Affairs Department’s 100-Day Achievements
Mumbai – To streamline the approval process for film shooting permits across multiple departments, an online single-window system has been launched. Under this initiative, shooting permits for Mumbai and its suburbs will now be issued within seven days. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated this system.
A presentation on the 100-day achievements of the Cultural Affairs Department was held at the Legislative Assembly. The event was attended by Legislative Council Chairman Ram Shinde, Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, Cultural Affairs Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar, Industry Minister Uday Samant, Minister of State Ashish Jaiswal, Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik, Additional Chief Secretary Vikas Kharge, and Film City Managing Director Swati Mhase Patil, among other officials. CM Fadnavis congratulated the department for achieving its 100-day goals.
Faster Approvals for Film Shoots in Mumbai & Suburbs
Additional Chief Secretary Vikas Kharge announced that under the Ease of Doing Business framework, the single-window system will ensure that shooting permits for films, TV serials, advertisements, and documentaries in Mumbai and its suburbs are granted within seven days.
This online portal serves as a one-stop solution for filmmakers, production houses, and location managers, providing real-time information on obtaining shooting permits across Maharashtra. The system has been upgraded and expanded to cover the entire state.
₹130 Crore Fund for ND Studios
The Maharashtra government has entrusted Film City Mumbai with the operations of ND Art World, founded by the late renowned art director Nitin Desai. CM Fadnavis handed over the funding cheque for its operation. The government has allocated ₹130 crore, with ₹120 crore for liabilities and ₹10 crore for operational expenses. The liability clearance process has been completed.
Launch of Coffee Table Book on Ahilyadevi Holkar’s Architectural Legacy
To mark the 300th birth anniversary of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar, CM Fadnavis, along with Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, released a special book documenting the architectural heritage of stepwells (Baravs) from her reign.
Ahilyadevi Holkar built and restored numerous water conservation structures, including stepwells, reservoirs, and ponds, benefiting communities across Maharashtra and other regions. This book features historical insights and photographs of these significant water management sites.
Additionally, the commemorative book highlights Chaundi (her birthplace), Maheshwar (her capital), Chandwad (her sub-capital), and Indore’s Rajwada, along with her administration, welfare policies, judicial system, financial planning, currency, and royal insignia, offering a comprehensive glimpse into her legacy.
