Dream of Owning a Home to Come True Under ‘Bandra Smart City Project’ – Mumbai Suburban Guardian Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar
Agreements Distributed to Rehabilitated Residents of Bandra
Mumbai – While undertaking development work, it is essential to maintain a human-centric approach. Through the ‘Bandra Smart City Project’ in Bandra East, the dream of home ownership for many families in Gautam Nagar is being realized, stated Mumbai Suburban Guardian Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar.
A program for distributing agreement letters for new homes to residents being rehabilitated under the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) in Bandra East was held at the Mumbai Suburban District Collector’s office. Minister Shelar personally handed over home agreement letters to 10 beneficiaries. Mumbai Suburban District Collector Rajendra Kshirsagar, senior officials, and staff were also present.
Minister Shelar said that with the cooperation of the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Housing Minister, and relevant officials, this project is being successfully completed. He assured efforts would be made to ensure that the beneficiaries can move into their new homes before the upcoming Ganesh festival.
He also informed that a decision had been made to hand over 30.16 acres of land owned by the Public Works Department in Bandra East to the High Court. Additionally, through sustained efforts with the government, the SRA has secured a total of 144 flats—77 flats from the Omsai Cooperative Housing Society and 67 from Balaji Shopkeepers.
As the construction of these flats is expected to take six to nine months, 100 eligible slum dwellers have entered into agreements with the condition of making their own temporary housing arrangements during this period.
