Maa Sharda Lok will be built in Maihar: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that a grand Sharda Lok dedicated to Maa Sharda Devi will be developed in Maihar, and a Vanvasi Bhagwan Shri Ram Lok will also be established in Chitrakoot. Speaking on the occasion of Ram Navami, he highlighted that while Ayodhya is illuminated with lights in celebration, Chitrakoot—associated with Lord Shri Ram’s exile—will also shine brightly with lakhs of lamps today. He stated that, honouring the sentiments of devotees, the state government has imposed a liquor ban in 19 religious areas, including Maihar. The Chief Minister said that the construction of the new Collectorate building in Maihar will begin soon. Additionally, this year, irrigation in the Maihar region will be enhanced by bringing water from the Bargi Dam via the Narmada River. He noted the significant strides in the irrigation sector, recalling that in 2003, only 7 lakh hectares had irrigation facilities, which has now increased to 55 lakh hectares. The target is to expand this to 1 crore hectares in the next five years through various projects. Furthermore, a large cowshed will be established on 250 acres of land in Maihar. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav shared these plans while addressing a public gathering following his visit to the Maa Sharda temple in Maihar on Ram Navami.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that with the blessings of Maa Sharda, Maihar district will be developed as a model region. He expressed gratitude for having the opportunity to seek blessings from Maa Sharda on the auspicious occasion of Ramnavami. He further noted that this year, alongside Ramnavami, the state is also commemorating the 1300th birth anniversary of Paramveer Alha, a great devotee of Maa Sharda and a legendary warrior. Alha’s valour transformed Bundelkhand into a land of heroes.The Chief Minister said that programmes highlighting the life and legacy of Alha will be organised throughout the year, with the entire cost being borne by the state government. He praised the live performances of folk artists who depicted Alha’s battles through powerful and emotionally charged renditions of traditional Alha songs, remarking that the performances were so vivid; it felt as though real swords were clashing. As a gesture of appreciation, he announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for each folk troupe that performed Alha presentations on stage.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the country and the state are developing rapidly due to the double engine government. Every difficulty of the country is being overcome due to the farsighted policies of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. A new chapter of development is being written by ending Article 370 in Kashmir and breaking the back of terrorists. Now even Pakistan occupied Kashmir is demanding to join India. This is the public’s faith in the public welfare policy, good governance and development work of Prime Minister Shri Modi.

The Chief Minister stated that Madhya Pradesh is witnessing rapid development. He highlighted that prior to 2003, the state’s industrial growth rate was below 1 percent, whereas today it stands at 12 percent. Madhya Pradesh has emerged as the fastest-growing state in terms of industrial development in the country. Significant investment proposals in the industrial sector have been received through investor meets held at each divisional headquarters.To boost industrial progress in Maihar, new institutions will be established. In the energy sector, the government plans to install 32 lakh solar pumps across the state to provide free electricity to farmers. Moreover, if farmers produce more electricity than they consume, the government will purchase the surplus and offer monetary compensation.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that liquor ban has been implemented in 19 places of the state including Maihar. This step has been taken on the demand of sisters. Liquor destroys body, mind and wealth. Today, while distributing milk at various places in Maihar, people expressed happiness over liquor ban.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav visited the Maa Sharda Devi temple in Maihar and offered prayers. He also participated in a roadshow held in Maihar city, which started from State Bank Chauraha and passed through Kali Mata Temple and Katra Bazaar, culminating at Ghantaghar Chowk. During the roadshow, the public warmly welcomed the Chief Minister by showering flowers and expressed their appreciation for the decision to ban liquor in the region.Later, at a large public gathering held at Bandha Barrier, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav performed the Bhoomi Pujan and inaugurated development works worth over ₹71 crore. He also honoured young girls by performing Kanya Pujan and distributed benefits under various government welfare schemes.

In the ceremony, the Minister in charge of the district and Minister of State for Rural Development, Smt. Radha Singh said that Maihar district will get the benefit of every development scheme. In the ceremony, MP Shri Ganesh Singh said that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has created a distinct identity with his special works in his short tenure. He has done a commendable and courageous work by implementing liquor ban in 19 places including Maihar. Like Mahakal Lok of Ujjain, the construction of Maa Sharda Lok in Maihar is also a big gift for the district. The MP demanded to build an industrial development center in Maihar, construct a ring road and construct a collectorate building. MLA Maihar Shrikant Chaturvedi, while welcoming Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, said that today is a big day for Maihar district. The MLA demanded to build a cowshed in 250 acres, make the roads of Maihar city four lane, open a girls college, start the construction work of the first phase of Maa Sharda Lok and organize Alha Mahotsav.

Minister of State for Urban Development Smt. Pratima Bagri, Chitrakoot MLA Shri Surendra Singh Gaharwar, Rampur Baghel MLA Shri Vikram Singh, District Panchayat President Ramkhelavan Kol along with public representatives, officials and a large number of citizens were present in the program. Folk artists presented Alha singing in the program.
