Plant High-Yield Fruit Saplings in Taluka Nursery: Deputy CM Ajit Pawar

Baramati – Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister of the district, Ajit Pawar, has instructed that high-yield fruit saplings and plants be cultivated in the Taluka Fruit Nursery at Kanheri to ensure maximum availability for farmers. He also emphasized increasing sapling and graft sales compared to last year.

Ajit Pawar visited several development projects in the Baramati region, including the Kanheri Forest Park, Kanheri Shivsrushti, and the Maharashtra State Transport Corporation workshop, where he reviewed progress and received updates from the concerned officials.

He suggested relocating the solar panels currently installed on the nursery office roof to the roof of the newly proposed vehicle parking shed. He also recommended planting coconut saplings in the remaining open areas and leveling the land for future orchard development.

The Shivsrushti Project, which showcases the glorious legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is being implemented in two phases. Currently, the first phase is underway. Pawar stressed that the project should blend tradition with modernity and serve as a grand and iconic addition to Baramati’s cultural heritage.

In the Kanheri Forest Park area, Pawar directed the plantation of indigenous tree species such as banyan, fig, peepal, karanj, and neem. He also suggested planting grass species like vaghnakhe along the lake’s edge and increasing the number of tall, shade-giving trees to offer relief during the summer months.

While reviewing the work at the Transport Corporation workshop, he emphasized the need for proper infrastructure for staff and officers and encouraged considering their input during the planning process. He instructed that the premises be properly leveled and that protective boundary walls be designed in a format similar to bus depots.

Ajit Pawar also directed that all development works in the taluka should be of high quality, durable, and completed within the stipulated time frame.

Among those present were Deputy Conservator of Forests Tushar Chavan, Sub-Divisional Officer Vaibhav Nawadkar, MIDC Regional Officer Hanumant Patil, MSEDCL Chief Engineer Dharamraj Pethkar, Assistant Forest Conservator Atul Jain, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Dr. Sudarshan Rathod, PWD Executive Engineer Amol Pawar, Water Resources Department Executive Engineer Digambar Dubal, Block Development Officer Anil Bagal, Forest Range Officer Ashwini Shinde, and MSRTC Baramati Depot Chief Raviraj Ghogare.
