Our Government is Dedicated to Empowering and Uplifting Labour Families: CM Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur – Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai reaffirmed his government’s unwavering commitment to the empowerment and upliftment of labour families, stating, “We are working with dedication for the well-being of labour families. Your affection and support are our greatest strength, and together we will realise the dream of a prosperous and empowered Chhattisgarh.”

Speaking at a function held at Raipur’s New Circuit House under the Mukhyamantri Noni Babu Medhavi Shiksha Sahayata Yojana, the CM awarded ₹2 lakh each to 31 meritorious children of registered labourers who ranked in the top 10 in their Class 10 and 12 examinations. Additionally, over ₹19.71 crore in assistance was transferred directly into the bank accounts of 38,200 registered construction workers under various welfare schemes.

The Chief Minister congratulated the students and said the government understands the needs of labour families and is determined to ensure their overall welfare. He announced that children of labourers aspiring to study abroad could now receive up to ₹50 lakh in support from the Labour Department.

Highlighting Chhattisgarh’s proactive industrial policy, CM Sai revealed that the state has received investment proposals worth over ₹5 lakh crore, which are expected to generate large-scale employment for youth.

Reflecting on his previous role as Union Minister of State for Labour, CM Sai shared that under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership, landmark reforms were introduced, including minimum pension guarantees and the use of unclaimed PF funds for workers’ welfare. His tenure also saw the introduction of the Universal PF Number, simplifying fund claims for workers.

The CM urged everyone to spread awareness of Labour Department schemes so that more beneficiaries can avail of them. He mentioned initiatives like providing nutritious meals to workers and shared details of other welfare programs.

Industries Minister Lakhansingh Devangan praised the government’s progress over the past 1.5 years, stating that all promises made under “Modi ki Guarantee” have been fulfilled. He noted that 38,200 workers received ₹19.71 crore today, and 31 top-ranking students received ₹62 lakh.

He also highlighted the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Shram Ann Yojana, which provides meals for just ₹5 to workers in 46 centres across 17 districts, with plans to expand it further. Free coaching facilities for workers’ children were also announced.

Labour Minister emphasized that simplified rules under the new industrial policy are attracting investment and creating job opportunities.

Dr. Ram Pratap Singh, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, said 31 welfare schemes, including Noni Empowerment, Mahatari Jatan, and Shramik Siyan Sahayata, are being implemented. The board serves 29.47 lakh registered workers and their families by providing healthcare, education, and financial support.

Heera Singh from Surajpur completed a B.Tech from IIIT and now works as a Junior Data Science Developer, having received ₹4.10 lakh in aid. Final-year B.Tech student Amlendra Pankra, whose family survives on daily wages, also benefited significantly.
