Home Minister K. Sapdanga Attends Passing Out Parade of Jail Warders

Today, Hon’ble Home Minister Pu K. Sapdanga officiated the Passing Out Parade of the 14th batch of Jail Warders from the Mizoram Prison Department, who recently completed their Basic Training Course at the Central Training Institute (CTI), Sesawng. The event was also graced by Pu Vanlalmawia, Home Secretary, as the Guest of Honour.
In his address, the Chief Guest emphasized the importance of training, not only for service but also for developing camaraderie with colleagues. He highlighted that those who wear the uniform must uphold discipline and integrity, and remain committed to their duties with pride and dedication. He also noted that the Home Department is working to improve the overall service conditions of uniformed cadres across the state, recognizing the crucial role they play in maintaining law and order.
The Basic Training program began on 26th April 2025 and spanned two months. A total of 29 candidates completed the course, comprising 18 men and 11 women. During today’s ceremony, Pu Lalrengpuia, Commandant of CTI, also administered the oath of allegiance to the new recruits.
As part of the ceremony, awards were presented to outstanding trainees:
- Home Minister Award for Best All-Rounder – Warder Lalrinawmi (Female)
- Home Secretary Award for Best Drill – Warder Lalrinliana
- IG Prisons Award for Best Shooter – Warder Lalnunkima
- Commandant General Award for Best Discipline – Warder F. Lalrinmawia
- CTI Commandant Award for Best Turnout – Warder RC Lalzarmawia
Each recipient was awarded a trophy, citation, medal, and a cash prize.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Pu R. Vanlalsawta, Inspector General of Prisons; Pu P.C. Lalduhthlanga, Joint Secretary, Home Department; and Pu Lalremkima, Superintendent, Home Department, along with other senior government officials. The IG of Prisons, Pu R. Vanlalsawta, delivered a vote of thanks to conclude the event.
Following the parade, the Home Minister also visited the facilities and training grounds of the Central Training Institute.
