With determination, confidence, and the support of the Madhya Pradesh government’s Bhagwan Birsa Munda Self-Employment Scheme, Sachin Chauhan from the small tribal village of Kishanpuri in Jhabua district has not only transformed his own life but has also become a source of inspiration for other tribal youth. Despite being educated, Sachin faced unemployment. However, instead of giving up, he turned his dreams into reality and is now the proud owner of “Taste of Jhabua Hotel & Restaurant”, a local favourite known for its food and hospitality.

Sachin’s journey embodies the vision of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, who is committed to empowering youth with employment opportunities. Recognising the need for quality hospitality services in a tribal-dominated region like Jhabua, Sachin chose the path of self-employment, but starting a business requires capital. To overcome this challenge, Sachin approached the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Finance and Development Corporation in Jhabua. There, he received detailed guidance on the Bhagwan Birsa Munda Self-Employment Scheme, along with step-by-step support.

Under the scheme, Sachin secured a loan of ₹15 lakh from the State Bank of India, Rajwada Branch, Jhabua, and laid the foundation of his restaurant. Today, Taste of Jhabua is not only a thriving local hotspot but also provides him with a monthly income of Rs. 45,000 to Rs. 50,000. This income supports his family and has enabled him to generate employment opportunities for others.Sachin credits his achievement to the visionary leadership of CM Dr. Mohan Yadav and the support of the Tribal Finance Corporation. He says, “This scheme has been a golden opportunity for youth like me. It made me self-reliant and gave wings to my dreams.”

Sachin’s success has inspired many unemployed youth in the region to consider self-employment. Encouraged by his journey, they are now working to turn their aspirations into reality.

About Bhagwan Birsa Munda Self-Employment Scheme

Launched by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, the Bhagwan Birsa Munda Self-Employment Scheme aims to empower tribal youth through self-employment.Tribal residents of Madhya Pradesh between the ages of 18 and 45, with a minimum educational qualification of Class 8th are eligible for the scheme. Eligible beneficiaries can avail loan assistance ranging from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 25 lakh for service or business ventures, and up to Rs. 50 lakh for manufacturing units. Loans are facilitated through various partner banks.

This scheme not only promotes economic empowerment but also enables tribal youth to secure a dignified place in society through their skills and entrepreneurial spirit.
