Career Awareness Programme Organised at Baptist HSS, Lunglei by Lunglei Officers’ Club and DHEW

Lunglei : A career awareness programme was organised today at Baptist Higher Secondary School (BHSS), Lunglei, jointly by the Lunglei Officers’ Club (LOC) and the Lunglei District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) under the District Programme Officer (WCD).

The event was held at BHSS Tucker Hall, with Lunglei Deputy Commissioner Pi Navneet Mann gracing the occasion as Chief Guest. Addressing the students, she encouraged them to gain clarity about their talents and interests. She urged them to make conscious decisions for their future and pursue careers they enjoy and excel in. Rather than being confused by peer pressure or societal expectations, she emphasized the importance of early planning, self-discipline, resilience, and consistency. She particularly urged the female students to be ambitious and strive for excellence without comparing themselves to others.

Three resource persons delivered presentations at the event. Maj. Rebecca L. Chhakchhuak, Sainik Welfare & Resettlement Officer and Member of the LOC Career Awareness Sub-Committee (CASC), spoke about academic life, career planning, self-employment, and cultivating a disciplined and value-based lifestyle. Pu K. Beihmotaosa, Additional Superintendent of Police, educated students on cybercrime and internet safety. Pu Beitlotha Nohro, District Settlement Officer and LOC Secretary, discussed various career options, the importance of skills and knowledge, and effective goal-setting for a successful future. The session also included a Q&A interaction.

Students of Classes XI and XII attended the programme, accompanied by the BHSS Principal and teaching faculty. Executive members and office bearers of the LOC also participated. The event was moderated by Pu Lalrotluanga, LOC Vice President and CASC Convener. LOC President Pu Francis Lalnuntluanga Ralte spoke on the purpose and vision behind organising such awareness programmes. BHSS Principal Pu C. Lalhmingmuana and LOC Executive Member & CASC Member Pu R. Lalrochama delivered closing remarks and a vote of thanks.
