Government school students to get free coaching says Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda

Chandigarh, July 2- Haryana Education Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda said that the state government is committed to further improving the quality of education in government schools and providing better facilities for students. As part of this initiative, meritorious students from government schools will now get free coaching to help them succeed in competitive exams like IIT, NDA, and others. The Education Department is preparing a pilot project for this purpose. Under which, selected blocks will provide coaching to  meritorious students after school hours, delivered by experienced government school teachers. If the project proves successful, it will be expanded across the state.

The Education Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda was presiding over a review meeting with the department officers at Shiksha Sadan Panchkula today.

He said that like private schools, parent-teacher meetings will soon be held regularly in government schools too. This will help parents stay informed about their children’s academic progress and encourage their active involvement in improving the learning outcomes of their children.

Talking about sports, Sh. Dhanda said that Haryana’s athletes are making the state and the country proud on international platforms like the Olympics, World Championships, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games. The foundation for good athletes is laid during school years. He emphasised the need to ensure quality sports training for students in government schools. Proper sports equipment should be made available to schools and teachers must encourage students to use it for regular practice. The Minister said he would personally review this from time to time, and strict action would be taken against teachers who neglect this responsibility, he added.

Sh. Dhanda further emphasis the importance of the Hindi language, saying that since Haryana is a Hindi-speaking state and Hindi is our national language, all official work in the Education Department offices should be done in Hindi. He made it clear that any negligence in this matter will not be tolerated.

Additional Chief Secretary, School Education, Sh. Vineet Garg, Director, Elementary Education, Sh. Vivek Aggarwal and other officers also remained present during the meeting.
