Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi

Calls for Central Assistance for Mahakumbh 2027, Nanda Raj Jat Yatra, and Semiconductor Hub in Udham Singh Nagar

New Delhi — Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss a range of development proposals aimed at accelerating Uttarakhand’s growth. He thanked the Central Government for its continued support and affirmed that Uttarakhand is committed to playing a key role in realizing the vision of a Developed India by 2047 under the Prime Minister’s leadership.

The Chief Minister congratulated PM Modi on being conferred the highest civilian honors by 27 countries, a matter of pride for all Indians. As a token of appreciation, he presented a replica of the Kartik Swami Temple, a coffee table book on the Adi Kailash Yatra, and local Uttarakhand products such as Kanar ghee, Purola red rice, Basmati rice, black cumin (Kala Jeera), Gandhrayan and Jambu herbs, and local honey.

CM Dhami requested PM Modi’s support for the development of the Haridwar and Rishikesh Ganga Corridors and the Sharda Corridor in Champawat, modeled after the Kedarnath and Badrinath master plans. He urged that these projects be funded through CSR channels.

He also sought directives for:

  • Transforming Nepa Farm in Udham Singh Nagar into a semiconductor hub;
  • Extending the Delhi–Meerut RRTS to Haridwar;
  • Including route construction in the Tanakpur–Bageshwar and Rishikesh–Uttarkashi rail lines.

Highlighting the Nanda Raj Jat Yatra scheduled for August 2026, he invited the PM and requested ₹400 crore for eco-friendly infrastructure. He also sought ₹3,500 crore for Mahakumbh 2027 in Haridwar to fund vital facilities like bridges, toilets, electricity, and transportation.

CM Dhami requested approval of a ₹1,015 crore DPR under the RDSS scheme for undergrounding and automating power lines in Rishikesh and Haridwar, and sought National Board for Wildlife clearance to restore Chaurasi Kutiya, a unique heritage site near Rishikesh.

He presented a preliminary proposal for the Pindar–Kosi River Link Project, aimed at providing water to 625 villages and key towns. Additionally, he requested approval for five hydropower projects totaling 596 MW, as recommended by a Cabinet Secretary-led committee.

PM Modi assured full Central support and discussed in detail the state’s pilgrimages and Jal Jeevan Mission initiatives.
