Essay Competition Marks Champhai’s Observance of International Day Against Drug Abuse, 2025
Champhai : The Champhai District Education Office organized a special event today to announce the results and distribute prizes for the essay competition held in observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, 2025.
The event took place at the Education Training Hall in Kahrawt and was chaired by Hindi Education Officer Pu H. Lalengzama. District Education Officer (DEO) Pi K. Lalsiamliani delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the urgent need for educators and students to work harder than ever in the fight against drug abuse. She encouraged students to remain vigilant and avoid becoming part of the drug abuse statistics.
Pu Samuel Lalrinzuala Chhangte presented the competition report and announced the results. Winners were awarded cash prizes and certificates. In addition, five participants received Consolation Prizes for their commendable efforts.
High School Level Winners:
- 1st Prize: Ramngaihzuali, Class 10, Govt. Champhai High School
- 2nd Prize: Zothansangi, Class 10, Govt. TM High School Zote
- 3rd Prize: Joseph Lalmawipuia, Class 10, BC Lalthlamuana English Academy
Middle School Level Winners:
- 1st Prize: Zomuanpuii Sailo, Class 8, Presbyterian English School, Zote
- 2nd Prize: Elizabeth Lalmuanawmi, Class 8, Einstein Middle School
- 3rd Prize: Miriam Malsawmhlui, Class 8, Govt. Bethel Middle School
The competition served as a platform to spread awareness among students about the dangers of drug use and encouraged them to be agents of change in their communities.
