Over ₹25 Crore Aid Provided to 2,738 Patients in Konkan Region Through CM’s Relief Fund
Mumbai : The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund has become a vital support system for economically weak and underprivileged patients in Maharashtra. In the Konkan Division alone, financial assistance totaling ₹25.86 crore has been extended to 2,738 patients over the past seven months.
Following the directive of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, a paperless and digital system has been implemented, along with the establishment of district-level cells, eliminating the need for patients to visit Mantralaya (state secretariat). Patients are first encouraged to benefit from schemes like Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, National Child Health Programme, or charitable hospitals. If treatment is not possible under these schemes, they may apply for help through affiliated hospitals under the CM Medical Assistance Cell. This ensures efficient use of government schemes and that aid reaches those truly in need, said Rameshwar Naik, Head of the CM Relief Fund and Charitable Hospital Aid Cell.
