Over 3,000 Meritorious Students Felicitated

Raipur, Aug 2025 : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today attended the Shaheed Vinod Singh Kaushik Meritorious Student Felicitation Ceremony held at Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur. On the occasion, he honoured the university’s meritorious students, stating that the youth are the future of the nation and that their hard work, dedication, and determination will take the state and the country to new heights. He expressed pride in recognising the talented, diligent, and bright young generation, noting that the event has been organised for the past three years in memory of Shaheed Vinod Singh Kaushik and serves as an inspiration for society. Such programmes, he said, encourage children to strive for excellence and innovation.

Paying tribute to Shaheed Vinod Singh Kaushik, the Chief Minister said his sacrifice will not be in vain. He recalled that the brave soldier was martyred in Narayanpur in 2018 while fighting Maoists. To keep his memory alive, a trust has been formed in his name, and honouring talent through it is a commendable initiative.

The Chief Minister announced that Sipat–Nawadih Chowk will be renamed in honour of Shaheed Vinod Singh Kaushik. He also stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the government is moving towards eliminating Naxal terrorism by March 2026. The “double-engine government” of the Centre and the state is committed to ending Naxalism, with continuous operational successes, the surrender of high-reward Maoists, and a severe weakening of the insurgency.

He emphasised that this ceremony honours not only those who scored high marks in exams but also the children who will shape the future of the nation. He reminded the students that while their achievements are a result of their own effort, the support of family, teachers, and society has been equally important. As Chhattisgarh enters its Silver Jubilee year, he assured that students no longer need to leave the state for higher education, as all top-level academic institutions are now available within the state.

During the event, the Chief Minister presented certificates of appreciation and mementos to students excelling in various faculties. He encouraged them to set goals, work consistently, and maintain a positive mindset.

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao also paid tribute to Shaheed Vinod Singh Kaushik and told the students that they are at a crucial stage in life where their future direction is decided. He urged them to work with dedication, not only for their own bright future but also for that of the state and the country. He advised them to remove words like “depression” and “hopelessness” from their vocabulary, saying that a person who loses hope can never succeed. Instead, they should move forward toward their goals with enthusiasm and positivity.

The event was attended by MLAs Amar Agrawal, Dharamlal Kaushik, Dharamjeet Singh, Sushant Shukla, Dilip Lahariya, Mayor Pooja Vidhani, Textbook Corporation Chairman Rajesh Pandey, CREDA Chairman Bhupendra Savanni, as well as public representatives and a large number of students.
