Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar Reviews Flood Situation in the State from the Emergency Control Center at the Secretariat

Mumbai, Aug 2025 : In light of the heavy rainfall currently affecting the state, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar visited the State Emergency Operations Center at the Secretariat to assess the situation. During this visit, he gathered detailed information from the officers in the control room regarding the conditions in Mumbai city and suburbs, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and other parts of the state impacted by the rain.

Based on the forecasts from the Meteorological Department, it is likely that heavy rainfall will continue over the next few days. Therefore, he advised the district administration, disaster management machinery, and local self-governance bodies to stay alert. He instructed that citizens in dangerous situations due to flooding or landslides should be evacuated to safe locations without delay, and preparedness for rescue and relief operations by NDRF and SDRF teams must be ensured.

He also emphasized the need to carry out immediate surveys to assess damage to crops, houses, or other losses caused by the rain and to submit reports to the government. Furthermore, he directed all departments to work together to ensure that essential services, such as hospitals, schools, shelter centers, roads, bridges, electricity, and water supply, are not disrupted.
