AAP Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal Announces Permanent Job for One Family Member of Every Person Who Lost Their Life in Punjab Floods

Chandigarh, Sept 2025 : The devastating floods in Punjab have taken countless lives, leaving families shattered—some lost a son, others a father, and many their only breadwinner. Amid this tragedy, a significant initiative has brought not just relief but also a ray of hope for the future. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal has announced that one member from every family that lost someone in the floods will be given a permanent job at Lovely Professional University (LPU). This is not just a formal declaration but a promise of a fresh start for the bereaved families.

Ashok Mittal emphasized that the 43 lives lost are not just numbers, but martyrs of this calamity. He said Punjab has always stood at the forefront whenever the nation faced a crisis, and now, when Punjab itself is in distress, it is everyone’s duty to stand united with its people.

In addition to jobs, Mittal also contributed ₹20 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, supporting the government’s ongoing rescue and relief operations. He lauded the efforts of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government, particularly the establishment of 196 relief camps and the evacuation of over 20,000 people to safety. Mittal further assured that LPU’s team would personally reach out to every affected family, while urging those who haven’t been contacted to come forward so that help can be extended without delay.

This story goes beyond a leader’s announcement—it reflects a vision that focuses on permanent solutions, local employment, and social responsibility in times of crisis. While leaders in many parts of the country confine themselves to statements, in Punjab, an MP is opening his resources and institution to the common people. This initiative not only supports 43 grieving families but also sends a powerful message across Punjab: the Aam Aadmi Party stands for real, ground-level relief and livelihood, not just electoral promises.
