Armed Forces Medical College Hosts IMPACT 2025, CME and Workshop on Scientific Writing and Reviewing
Sept 2025 : The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, successfully hosted ‘IMPACT 2025’ CME cum workshop on scientific writing and reviewing from September 18-20, 2025. Organized by the Medical Journal Armed Forces India (MJAFI), one of India’s oldest multi-specialty research journals, the event commemorated the journal’s 81st year of publication. Over the decades, MJAFI has grown into a prestigious, peer-reviewed indexed journal, attracting research submissions globally and boasting a cite score of 2.4. The theme of the conference ‘Artificial Intelligence and Technology in Scientific Publication’ highlighted how AI is transforming each stage of the research publication process.

The conference was inaugurated by Lt Gen Pankaj P Rao, Director and Commandant of AFMC and Colonel Commandant, AMC. He highlighted the importance of mastering medical writing and reviewing, with an emphasis on keeping pace with the rapidly changing publication landscape. General Rao emphasized the need for adaptation to digital platforms in this modern era.

The three-day event featured interactive sessions led by distinguished faculty, covering various aspects of medical publishing. Workshops focused on leveraging AI tools for scientific writing, digital tools for research data collection and management, citation management, understanding peer review, and biostatistics to help budding authors refine their skills. Key discussions also addressed modern challenges such as plagiarism and the threat posed by predatory journals.
IMPACT 2025 attracted over 80 delegates, including budding authors, reviewers, and editors from the Armed Forces and reputed civil institutes across the country.
