Jaipur, Oct 2025: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has issued special directives to ensure cleanliness, beautification, and festive decoration across the state ahead of the Diwali festival. He instructed the Devasthan Department to organize special religious and cultural programs and decorate temples under its administration in celebration of ‘Panchparv Diwali’.

The Chief Minister also directed that government schools and public spaces be illuminated and cleaned extensively to reflect the festive spirit.

Under his guidance, the Devasthan Department will organize ‘Panchparv Diwali’, during which special cleanliness drives will be carried out across temple premises. Temples will be decorated with lamps and electric lighting, creating a vibrant and devotional atmosphere. As part of the event, collective lamp-lighting ceremonies will be held with devotees’ participation, spreading the message of “One Lamp for All.” The celebrations will also include rangoli decorations, grand aartis, devotional evenings, cultural performances, and distribution of ‘Mahabhog’ (sacred feast).

CM Sharma further directed the Urban Local Bodies Department to replace outdated streetlights with two lakh new LED streetlights and expedite the tendering process. He stated that improved illumination in public areas would not only beautify cities but also help reduce crime.

The Chief Minister also emphasized the painting, repair, and cleanliness of government schools, especially those affected by monsoon damage, ensuring they are ready before Diwali. Under his orders, repair and strengthening work is underway in 65,000 schools across the state. Of these, 15,000 senior secondary schools are being repaired through Boys Fund, while 1,500 schools are being upgraded with state funds.

In compliance with his directions, 4,000 rain-affected schools have been approved ₹2 lakh each for repairs, and 16,000 additional schools are being sanctioned similar assistance. Moreover, 23,000 primary and upper primary schools have already received ₹25,000 each from the State Finance Commission Fund for maintenance and improvement.
