Lucknow, Dec 2025 : The 10-day Khadi Mahotsav 2025, organised at the Central Sanskrit University in Gomtinagar, set a new sales record this year. Held on the theme ‘From Thread to Heritage’, the event achieved total sales of ₹3.20 crore — almost 42% higher than last year’s ₹2.25 crore. The final day saw the highest rush, with crowds at stalls till late evening. Khadi garments, herbal products, jute handicrafts, and pottery emerged as the top choices for visitors.

A total of 160 entrepreneurs participated in the Mahotsav, including 32 Khadi institutions, 120 Gramodyog units, and 8 pottery stalls. Artisans from various districts, including Lucknow, Muzaffarnagar, Barabanki, and Gorakhpur, said that not only did the footfall increase this year, but customer enthusiasm for purchasing was also noticeably higher.

According to Prem Kumar from Swarajya Ashram, Satendra Kumar from Gram Seva Sansthan, Abbas Ansari from Muzaffarnagar, Anjali Singh from Jute Artisans, Premchandra from Barabanki, and Prof. Nitin Singh of Royal Honey, the significant presence of young customers this time gave a major boost to sales.

Throughout the event, there was a steady presence of youth, students, and women. Visitors said that finding such a wide range of Khadi, local crafts, and natural products under one roof was both engaging and trustworthy.

At the closing ceremony, Board CEO Shishir thanked the entrepreneurs and organising team, noting that Khadi has now evolved into more than just a clothing choice — it has become a shared identity representing both cultural heritage and the modern consumer.
