Ministers Hold 5-Hour Dialogue with Denotified, Nomadic & Semi-Nomadic Communities in Rajasthan

Jaipur, December 2025 : Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Shri Avinash Gehlot and State Minister for Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, and Disaster Management Shri Otaram Devasi stated that the state government is serious about addressing the demands and issues of denotified, nomadic, and semi-nomadic communities. They assured that all demands would be addressed within the legal framework.

On Friday, the ministers held an extensive five-hour dialogue at Ambedkar Bhawan in Jaipur with representatives of these communities from across the state. They emphasized that the government would ensure better implementation of welfare schemes to provide the communities with respect, rights, and social recognition.

During the session, the ministers listened attentively to each representative and assured consideration of their demands. Representatives were also informed about the factual status of 15 previously submitted demands. The ministers acknowledged that policy decisions take time but assured that the state government is committed to the upliftment of all sections of society.

The session included presentations by Shri Lalji Raika, President of the National Shepherd Association and DNT Struggle Committee, through video and PPT, highlighting key demands and seeking solutions. Other participants included Shri Ratannath Kalbelia, President of the Denotified, Nomadic & Semi-Nomadic Caste Council, Shri Kapoor Raika, Vice President of the National Shepherd Association, Shri Bhanwar Rao of Hinglaj Mata Hostel Society, Smt. Geeta Bagaria of the Bagaria Society, Shri Shersingh Azad of Nath Samaj DNT Struggle Committee, Shri Shankar Gadia Lohar of the Gaadiya Lohar Pranveer Sena, Shri Bhikhu Singh Raika, Vice President of National Shepherd Association, Shri Gyansingh Sansi, President of All India DNT Welfare Association Rajasthan, and Shri Sukhram Devasi, Secretary of the National Shepherd Association.

Raniwara MLA Shri Ratan Devasi also shared his views. Officials from Arts & Culture, Revenue, and related departments, along with private secretary Shri Rohit Kumar and Additional Directors Smt. Reena Sharma, Shri Omprakash Meena, and Shri JP Bairwa, were present.

The ministers assured that all lawful demands would be considered and resolved, reinforcing the government’s commitment to the welfare and empowerment of these communities.
