Meena community regards education and excellence as its guiding principles : CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the Meena community has made a significant contribution to the development of the state and the nation through its hard work and integrity. Members of the community are also fulfilling their social responsibilities with dedication. He said that education is the strongest foundation for social progress. The honouring of nearly 550 talents over the past years is proof that the Meena community considers education and excellence as its guiding principles.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that by opposing social evils such as ‘Mrityubhoj’, supporting dowry-free & simple marriages and promoting mass wedding sammelans, the community has sent a strong message against regressive practices. Such efforts educate society, help eradicate social evils and guide community members on the progress. These initiatives also provide a new direction to the all-around development of the state and the nation. He said that the state government stands firmly with the Meena community in these efforts.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed the Meena Samaj Sammelan and the felicitation ceremony of meritorious students held on Sunday at the Hansdhwani Auditorium of Ravindra Bhavan. He inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

The Madhya Pradesh Meena Samaj Seva Sangathan welcomed and felicitated Chief Minister Dr. Yadav by adorning him with three large garlands, tying a traditional safa, and presenting a shawl. Former Minister Shri Ram Niwas Rawat read out the felicitation letter in honour of the Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. The Chief Minister  also honoured 16 students of the Meena community who were selected in various competitive examinations, excelled in sports, won medals and achieved distinctions in other fields. He said the community is rich in talent and its youth are proving their mettle in education and sports. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed hope that players from the community would win medals in international sporting events. He stated that the community has struggled through every circumstance and paved the way for progress for its families. The Meena Samaj Seva Sangathan was established in 1980 with the objective of social, educational and cultural upliftment of the Meena community and the positive outcomes of its work are clearly visible today.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced several innovations in governance to make life easier for citizens. Under his leadership, work has begun on the country’s first three river interlinking projects in the state. These projects will provide irrigation to regions including Sheopur, Guna, Chambal and Malwa, benefiting the Meena community in particular. He said that a major decision on the caste census has been taken on the initiative of Prime Minister Modi, under which house listing will be conducted this year and further processes will be carried out in 2027. The caste census will help resolve several long-pending issues.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government is promoting animal husbandry and dairy production to enhance farmers’ income. He urged community members to move ahead in industry, trade and entrepreneurship, assuring them of full support from the state government at every step. He said that it is due to the efforts of Prime Minister Modi that Rama now ‘smiles’ in Ayodhya. The Chief Minister stated that Lord Krishna, like Lord Ram, is also an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government is considering the formation of a Minesh Board and assured that government support will be provided for the construction of the community’s dharamshala. He expressed confidence that, strengthened by education, values and organisation, the Meena community will continue to move forward and play an important role in the development of the state and the nation.
