Foundation Stone Laid for New Sawantwadi Sub-Divisional Office Building by Guardian Minister Nitesh Rane

Sindhudurgnagari, January 2026 : The foundation stone for the new, grand and fully equipped building of the Sawantwadi Sub-Divisional Officer and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Office was laid with great enthusiasm by Guardian Minister Nitesh Rane. Speaking on the occasion, the Guardian Minister said that the day was historic and that this building would be of great importance to every citizen of the Sawantwadi sub-division. He expressed his gratitude to Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule for approving a fund of Rs 4.33 crore for the construction of the building. Emphasising timely completion, Nitesh Rane said the building must be completed within the stipulated period and added that if the work is completed within one year instead of two, the concerned agency will be given special recognition.

The Guardian Minister stated that the new building should make the administration more transparent, dynamic and citizen-friendly. He stressed that work should be carried out in such a way that citizens are required to make minimal visits to government offices. Treating citizens with courtesy, prioritising their work, and ensuring that no complaints arise are key responsibilities of the administration, he said. He further noted that timely completion of development works and various projects would generate large-scale employment in the district and urged everyone to actively participate in the development process. He added that the three talukas—Sawantwadi, Vengurla and Dodamarg—have immense development potential and called for collective efforts to ensure the overall development of the sub-division.

On the occasion, MLA Deepak Kesarkar said that the building would be highly modern and would enable citizens to receive services in a more transparent manner. He also remarked that under the leadership of Guardian Minister Nitesh Rane, Sindhudurg district is progressing rapidly on the path of development.

She noted that the old building, constructed in 1910, had become outdated, prompting the planning of a new and modern structure in line with citizens’ needs. She added that the new building would be extremely beneficial for the public in the future.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Sub-Divisional Officer Sachin Ghare, who assured that the new building would facilitate clean and transparent administration and enable faster delivery of services to citizens.
