Strong Law and Order Key to Realising a Developed India: CM Bhajanlal Sharma

Jaipur, January 2026: Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma said that a strong law-and-order system plays a decisive role in achieving the resolve of a developed India. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, the Central Government has replaced colonial-era laws with three new laws. He said the concept of speedy justice under the new criminal justice system is further strengthening public trust.

The Chief Minister was addressing a state-level police conference on the theme “Police System in a Developed India” at the Rajasthan Police Academy on Thursday. He stated that the law-and-order situation in the state has seen significant improvement over the past two years. Compared to 2023, overall crime has reduced by 15 percent, murder cases by 25 percent, robbery cases by 50 percent, crimes against women by 10 percent, and atrocities against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes by 28 percent.

Police Station Visits for Students on Youth Day
The Chief Minister said that under the implementation of the new laws, police stations are being strengthened in a phased manner to ensure forensic investigation through FSL in cases punishable with more than seven years of imprisonment. From FIR and e-FIR registration to charge sheets and court verdicts, the entire process is being digitised.
He directed that on the upcoming Youth Day (January 12), students should be taken on visits to police stations and informed about police functioning and the new laws. Awareness about de-addiction, road safety, and policing should be imparted to the younger generation during their student life itself.

Action Against Organised Crime and Social Media Monitoring
Shri Sharma said the government is fully committed to curbing organised crime and is taking firm steps in this direction. He stressed monitoring and screening social media posts that glorify gangsters and keeping such individuals under surveillance. He also emphasised eradicating drug abuse and drug trafficking from the roots. Praising police action against cybercrime, he said swift action in cases of digital arrest and online fraud is essential to maintain public confidence.

Improved Law and Order Boosts Investment
The Chief Minister said a strong law-and-order system strengthens the state’s economy, as development and investment are not possible without it. In its first year, the government organised the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, where MoUs worth ₹35 lakh crore were signed, of which projects worth ₹8 lakh crore are already being implemented, creating a secure investment environment in the state.

Steps for Police Welfare
He said the government is taking several measures to strengthen the police force and provide better facilities. A ₹200 crore fund is being created for police modernisation and infrastructure. Projects worth ₹350 crore, including the Sardar Patel Centre for Cyber Control Room and the Rajasthan Police Technical Training Academy, will be established. Uniform allowance for constables to assistant sub-inspectors and mess allowance up to inspector rank have been increased, along with financial and administrative approvals worth nearly ₹60 crore to enhance police efficiency.

Holistic Approach to Policing
The Chief Minister called for promoting community policing and building systems to connect with positive individuals and groups in society. Outstanding police personnel should be encouraged regularly, and sensitivity should be combined with policing to ensure speedy justice for all sections of society.

Use of Technology and AI
He emphasised the use of technology and AI in analysing intelligence inputs. All senior police officers should devote at least 100 hours annually to training junior officers, and officers with over 10 years of service should adopt one police station each.

Home State Minister Shri Jawahar Singh Bedham said the police force plays a crucial role in realising the Prime Minister’s vision of a developed India. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, public trust has increased, fear among criminals has grown, and the police department has set several benchmarks over the past two years.

Director General of Police Shri Rajeev Kumar Sharma said the police are working with dedication to ensure better policing and must continue adopting innovation. Detailed discussions during the conference will focus on cybercrime, use of technology for women’s safety, control of narcotics and crime, and police empowerment.

The Chief Minister also launched the e-Visitors Portal, e-Zero FIR, and released the Rajasthan Police Priority–2026 booklet.

Rajasthan Police Academy Ranked No. 1 in the Country
The Chief Minister said innovations in police training have given the state a new identity. He expressed satisfaction that the Rajasthan Police Academy has been awarded the status of an उत्कृष्ट (Excellent) Institution by the Government of India’s Capacity Building Commission, becoming the first police training academy in the country to achieve this distinction. He congratulated all police personnel and urged them to continue serving the nation and society with dedication and make Rajasthan a leading state in implementing the new criminal justice system.
