Jaipur, August 2026 : Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday listened to the 137th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat programme along with women participants at the Chief Minister’s residence.
During the programme, the Prime Minister spoke on a range of issues, including women’s empowerment and the need for a drug-free youth population. He also highlighted the positive changes brought about in the lives of people across different parts of the country.
The Prime Minister said that even a small idea could bring about a major transformation. Calling upon young people to take their ideas and innovations forward, he urged them to contribute to the development of society and the nation.
Referring to women’s empowerment, the PM said that women account for nearly 46 per cent of the beneficiaries under the PM SVANidhi Scheme, with more than 35 lakh women beneficiaries expanding their small businesses into larger enterprises.
Appealing to the younger generation to stay away from drugs, the Prime Minister said the enthusiastic participation of young people in the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Abhiyan was commendable. He added that young people were also coming forward to participate actively in cleanliness campaigns and were setting inspiring examples through special initiatives.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had consistently introduced welfare schemes for the empowerment and well-being of Matri Shakti . He said that several public welfare initiatives, including 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao', Jan Dhan accounts, the Ujjwala Yojana, the PM Awas Yojana and the PM SVANidhi Scheme, had brought significant changes to the lives of women across the country.
The Chief Minister said that empowering women is essential to building a stronger nation. “This is why our government consulted women associated with different sectors while preparing all three of its Budgets and incorporated their suggestions into the Budget,” he said.
He added that, to promote girls’ education, free bicycles and scooters are being distributed to meritorious girl students. Keeping the health of pregnant women in view, facilities such as free medical examinations and sonography are being provided under the MAA Yojana.
The Chief Minister said that the social and economic development of women is also being ensured through RAJEEVIKA. The honorarium of ASHA Sahyoginis has been increased by 10 per cent. Similarly, initiatives such as Bank Sakhi and Pashu Sakhi are helping ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach women at the grassroots.
Various public representatives and a large number of women were present on the occasion.
