Mumbai, Aug 2026 : The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls for Maharashtra’s Assembly constituencies is underway as per the directions of the Election Commission of India. The deadline for completing the door-to-door distribution and collection of Enumeration Forms is August 17, 2026.
Of the state’s total 97,854,049 registered voters, enumeration forms duly filled in and signed have so far been received from 76,299,360 voters, representing 77.97 per cent of the electorate.
Following door-to-door visits, 18,756,231 voters (19.17 per cent) have been classified under the category of “Uncollectable EF”, where enumeration forms could not be collected.
This category includes 6,361,113 voters who could not be traced or were unavailable, 7,195,388 who have permanently migrated, 3,394,053 deceased voters, 1,662,121 voters registered elsewhere or listed more than once, and 143,556 voters falling under other categories.
Action has been completed in respect of 95,055,591 voters, or 97.14 per cent of the total electorate, while verification and other related action remains pending for 2,798,458 voters (2.86 per cent).
Lists containing the names of voters classified under the “Uncollectable EF” category are being made available by the respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to Booth Level Agents (BLAs) of recognised political parties. These lists have also been published, or are in the process of being published, on the official websites of the respective District Collectors.
If voters whose names appear on these lists, or BLAs, provide information to the concerned BLOs regarding the voters’ current residence or whereabouts, physical verification can be conducted and their Enumeration Forms can still be completed and collected by August 17.
The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer said detailed information regarding the process was provided to representatives of all recognised political parties at a state-level meeting held on August 12. BLAs have also been instructed to examine the lists and assist in the verification process.
