Financial assistance sanctioned immediately under the Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme; relief for farmer father struggling to arrange funds for his son’s treatment
Raipur, October 2026: A new ray of hope has emerged for the family of 10-year-old Rimon Tandon, who is battling a rare disease, following a compassionate initiative by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. The Chief Minister has immediately sanctioned financial assistance of ₹12 lakh under the Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme to support the boy’s expensive treatment.
The Chief Minister also assured the family of all possible assistance to ensure that Rimon receives proper medical care.
Rimon visited the Chief Minister along with his parents. Sai affectionately lifted the child into his arms, comforted him and enquired in detail about his health and treatment. After learning about the family’s financial circumstances and the estimated cost of treatment, the Chief Minister directed officials to immediately approve assistance of ₹12 lakh.
Consoling Rimon’s parents, Sai said, “He is not just your son, but ours as well. It is also our responsibility to care about his health.”
He assured the family that there would be no shortfall in Rimon’s treatment and said the state government would take full responsibility for ensuring that the child receives the necessary medical care.
The Chief Minister said the state government was committed to ensuring that every citizen receives access to quality healthcare and government support whenever needed.
10-Year-Old Rimon Suffers from a Rare Disease
Rimon Tandon, a resident of Dhurkot village in the Dabhra development block of Sakti district, suffers from a rare condition described as isolated growth hormone deficiency (Type A-1). Doctors have recommended specialised medical treatment, which is estimated to cost approximately ₹12 lakh.
Arranging such a large sum was beyond the means of Rimon’s farming family. The financial assistance sanctioned by the Chief Minister has provided much-needed relief and renewed hope for the child’s recovery.
Rimon’s father, Ajay Kumar Tandon, earns his livelihood through farming and supports his family on a limited income. His son’s illness and the high cost of treatment had placed the family under considerable financial strain.
While the family was anxious to arrange the required treatment as quickly as possible, the expense of several lakh rupees was beyond its financial capacity.
The immediate approval of ₹12 lakh has eased the family’s biggest concern and made it easier for Rimon to access the treatment he needs.
Farmer Father Thanks Government for Support During Difficult Times
Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister, Rimon’s father, Ajay Kumar Tandon, said it would have been impossible for his family to arrange such a large amount for his son’s treatment.
He said he had been worried about Rimon’s health and medical needs for a long time. By understanding the family’s difficulties and sanctioning financial assistance immediately, the Chief Minister had provided them with significant support.
“The Chief Minister treated our concern about our son’s treatment as his own concern. With his support, we now have confidence that our son will receive the treatment he needs,” Tandon said.
He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister and the state government for standing by his family during this difficult period.
Little Rimon Thanks the Chief Minister with a Song
The meeting also witnessed a heartwarming moment when Rimon, delighted by the assistance, sang a song for the Chief Minister as a gesture of gratitude.
Sai listened to the child with affection and encouraged him. He motivated Rimon to study well, progress in life, regain his health and pursue his dreams.
Wishing the boy a speedy recovery, the Chief Minister said that seeing Rimon smile and build a healthy future would bring happiness not only to his family but also to the government.
Special Health Assistance Scheme Supports Families in Need
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government is working to provide better treatment to families struggling with serious and rare diseases.
The Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme has become an important source of support for families unable to bear the high cost of treating serious illnesses. Under the scheme, eligible patients in need receive financial assistance for the treatment of critical medical conditions.
The initiative aims to ensure that financial hardship does not become an obstacle to essential medical care and that families do not have to bear the entire financial burden of a serious illness on their own.
The immediate sanction of ₹12 lakh for Rimon’s treatment is an example of this approach. The assistance has eased the financial worries of a farming family and strengthened its hope that the 10-year-old will receive the required treatment and move towards a healthier, more normal life.
