Welcomes Kanwariyas with flower shower, reviews arrangements at service camps
Delhi is immersed in devotion to Baba Bhole, service camps are wholeheartedly serving Shiva devotees: CM Rekha Gupta
New Delhi, August 2026 : Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta on Sunday visited the Kanwar service camp in Mayapuri and the Kanwar camp in Pitampura and welcomed and greeted Shiva devotees. At the Mayapuri Kanwar service camp, she showered flowers on the revered Kanwariyas and distributed prasad, wishing them an auspicious journey. The Chief Minister said there is a deep sense of reverence and respect across society for Kanwariyas who arrive in Delhi from Haridwar carrying holy Ganga water during the auspicious month of Sawan. “Like last year, Delhi is once again immersed in devotion to Baba Bhole, with Kanwar service camps set up across the city serving devotees with complete dedication and commitment,” she said.
The Chief Minister also interacted with Shiva devotees and enquired about their journey. She reviewed the arrangements made for devotees at the camp and appreciated the dedication of the workers engaged in the service. MLA Shri Anil Sharma, MLA Shri Umang Bajaj, former MP Shri Ramesh Bidhuri and a large number of Shiva devotees were present on the occasion.
Later, CM Rekha Gupta visited the Kanwar camp in Pitampura, where she met Shiva devotees and the workers engaged in their service and took stock of the facilities available at the camp. The Chief Minister said the Kanwar Yatra is a unique confluence of faith, devotion, discipline and service, and appreciated the work being carried out by various organisations and volunteers in Delhi to serve Shiva devotees. She said the Delhi Government is committed to ensuring that every Shiva devotee passing through the capital gets a safe, smooth and comfortable environment. The government and administration are working with full preparedness to ensure the necessary arrangements during the Kanwar Yatra.
CM Rekha Gupta said serving Shiva devotees is not merely a matter of arrangements, but a responsibility rooted in faith and the spirit of service. She thanked all service committees, organisers, volunteers and workers engaged in Kanwar service and appreciated their dedication. The Chief Minister extended her greetings to all Shiva devotees on the occasion of Sawan and prayed to Lord Bholenath for a safe, successful and auspicious journey for all Kanwariyas. She also prayed that the blessings of Mahadev always remain upon all devotees and the people of Delhi.
