The 15th meeting of the Review Committee of the Narmada Control Authority (RCNCA) was held in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Union Jal Shakti Minister Shri C. R. Paatil, in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel.
The Chief Ministers of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, the participating states in the Narmada project, joined the meeting through video conferencing.
The Memorandum of Agreement reached during the previous meeting held in July 2026 was approved by the participating states at this meeting. This marks an important step towards further strengthening mutual understanding, consensus and coordination for resolving long-pending issues related to the Narmada.
The progress made during this meeting has demonstrated that long-pending issues can also be resolved through consensus with coordination and cooperation between the Central Government and the concerned states.
Under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah, the spirit of cooperative federalism has gained further momentum. In this context, a positive approach was adopted at the meeting to resolve other pending issues related to the Narmada in the future through dialogue, mutual understanding and cooperation.
The Narmada is not merely a water resource but also a lifeline for the prosperity of farmers, public welfare and regional development in all four concerned states, including Gujarat. This meeting will prove significant in ensuring the maximum utilisation of Narmada waters in the public interest, strengthening cooperation among the states and accelerating the country's overall development.
Chief Secretary Shri M. K. Das joined the meeting through video conferencing. In addition, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. Vikrant Pandey and senior officials participated in the meeting alongside the Chief Minister.
