Mumbai, Aug 2026 : Minister of State for Energy Meghna Sakore-Bordikar has directed officials to expedite the undergrounding of high-voltage power lines in the CIDCO, Kamatwada and Satpur areas of the Nashik West Assembly constituency and complete all works related to the power distribution system at the earliest. She also made it clear that wherever undergrounding of power lines is not technically feasible, necessary measures must be taken by giving the highest priority to the safety of citizens.
A meeting of concerned officials on the undergrounding of power lines in the CIDCO and Satpur areas was held under the chairpersonship of Minister of State Meghna Sakore-Bordikar at the MSRDC office in Nirmal Bhavan, Nariman Point. The MSEDCL administration had earlier submitted a Detailed Project Report costing Rs 56.02 crore for undergrounding power lines in the Kamatwada and Satpur areas under Nashik City Division No. 1 and City Division No. 2. Subsequently, a revised Detailed Project Report was prepared and a proposal worth Rs 92.74 crore was sent to the head office on August 10, 2026. The meeting also reviewed various development works in the Nashik West Assembly constituency. Of the 14 works undertaken under the District Planning and Development Committee scheme, eight have been completed and two are in progress. Administrative approval for the remaining four works was granted on August 3, 2026. Instructions were issued to start and complete these works on an urgent basis as well.
Officials also informed the meeting that six new substations have been proposed in the Nashik West Assembly constituency under the ADB scheme. It was clarified that ADB-1 is intended for rural areas of Nashik, while ADB-2 is meant for Nashik city. Minister of State Meghna Sakore-Bordikar directed the concerned officials to take necessary action on all the demands raised by MLA Seema Hiray. She also instructed officials to provide MLA Seema Hiray with a complete list of the works carried out so far. All works must be completed 100 per cent. Wherever undergrounding of power lines is technically not possible, immediate measures must be taken to ensure the safety of citizens. Minister of State Meghna Sakore-Bordikar directed officials to expedite all works and complete them at the earliest.
