Bilhaur and Bithoor to receive 48 development projects worth over ₹411 crore

Lucknow, October 2026: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that expanding public amenities, encouraging investment and promoting innovation to create new opportunities for young people are central to the development vision of a New Uttar Pradesh.
In a post on social media platform X, the Chief Minister said he would participate in development initiatives in Bithoor, Kanpur Nagar, on the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Adikavi Maharishi Valmiki.
He said 48 development projects worth more than ₹411 crore would be inaugurated or launched in the Bilhaur and Bithoor Assembly constituencies. Certificates would also be distributed to beneficiaries of various public welfare schemes.
Yogi Adityanath said the state's development strategy combines infrastructure projects aimed at improving people's lives with investment and innovation initiatives designed to strengthen employment opportunities and secure the future of young people.
Taking this vision forward, he will inaugurate the GCC Innovation Summit 2026 in Lucknow. The Chief Minister said memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with global companies and universities would create new opportunities in technological research, innovation and high-skilled employment.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the double-engine government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of development reach the last person in society and that young people in Uttar Pradesh have opportunities to establish a global identity while working in their home state, he said.
Uttar Pradesh Combining Cultural Heritage with Future Opportunities
The Chief Minister described the day as a symbol of Uttar Pradesh's journey towards building new opportunities for the future while drawing inspiration from its rich cultural heritage.
While the state celebrates Maharishi Valmiki's birth anniversary, the GCC Innovation Summit 2026 offers an opportunity to strengthen Uttar Pradesh's prospects of emerging as a major centre for global technology, innovation and the knowledge-based economy.
Yogi Adityanath said the Ramayana, composed by Maharishi Valmiki, was not merely a cultural treasure but also a lasting tradition of knowledge, moral values and public welfare. For generations, the epic has introduced society to the life and ideals of Lord Shri Ram and the concept of Ram Rajya.
He said the challenge today was to carry this tradition of knowledge forward in a modern context by connecting science and technology with young people's talent and enabling them to gain global recognition.
The Chief Minister alleged that before 2017, Uttar Pradesh had faced challenges in respecting its heritage and creating adequate space for science, development, investment and employment. He said expanding opportunities in line with the state's industrial and technological potential had been a major challenge at the time.
Connectivity and Electronics Manufacturing Driving Growth
According to the Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh is now developing new opportunities through improved connectivity, electronics manufacturing, digital infrastructure and investment-friendly policies.
He said India had emerged as a global hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs) under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, while Uttar Pradesh was strengthening its position within India's electronics ecosystem.
The GCC Innovation Summit is expected to support the state's efforts to attract investment, encourage technological collaboration and develop a skilled workforce.
Yogi Adityanath said the knowledge and intellectual discipline represented by Maharishi Valmiki's legacy could inspire the state's young people as they prepare for an economy increasingly shaped by technology and innovation.

The Chief Minister said the vision of a developed Uttar Pradesh rests on combining cultural values with education, skills and technological progress.
