Pune, Aug 2026 : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed confidence that a developed India of tomorrow and a developed Maharashtra that fulfils everyone’s aspirations, promotes equality and progress, and empowers the dreams of the youth will be built on the strength of the younger generation. He was speaking while addressing a grand Tiranga rally organised on Namdar Gopal Krishna Gokhale Road under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, Minister of State for Urban Development Madhuri Misal, Mayor Manjusha Nagpure, MLAs Ravindra Chavan, Uma Khapre, Amit Gorkhe, Siddharth Shirole, Rahul Kul and Shankar Jagtap, among others, were present.
Fadnavis said young people had taken to the streets carrying the national flag to convey the message that they would never allow the Tiranga to bow. Following the message of the Prime Minister, he appealed to citizens across every city and village in the country to carry the national flag and express their patriotism until August 15, while demonstrating the pride and dignity of the Tiranga.
The Chief Minister said the Tiranga is not merely a flag but a symbol of patriotism. It lives in the hearts and lives of the people. Holding the national flag also reminds citizens that along with their rights, they have responsibilities. The same Constitution that provides citizens with rights also entrusts them with certain duties, and it is their responsibility to fulfil them, he said.
Fadnavis said Maharashtra must be developed to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India. Pune is Maharashtra’s city of knowledge, innovation and industry, and is also an important cultural strength of India. He expressed confidence that the India of tomorrow would be shaped by the strength and energy of Pune’s youth.
The Chief Minister reminded the gathering that many people had sacrificed their lives for the honour of the Tiranga, while soldiers continue to lay down their lives for the national flag and the country. By taking the Tiranga in their hands, citizens must remember their responsibility towards national service, he said. The rally began at Lalit Chowk and proceeded via Fergusson College Road before concluding at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Chowk. Citizens and students standing along both sides of the route raised slogans such as Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai. A large number of public representatives, citizens, college students and school students participated in the rally.
