Raipur, October 2026 : Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended the Shri Agrasen Jayanti Festival 2026, organised at Shri Agrasen Dham in the state capital, Raipur, on Monday.

On the occasion, Governor Deka extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of Chhattisgarh on Sharadiya Navratri and Shri Agrasen Jayanti. He said Maharaja Shri Agrasen Ji had given society an invaluable message of generosity and philanthropy.

The Governor noted that the Aggarwal community had made meaningful contributions not only to business but also to society, while playing an important role in strengthening the Indian economy. Through industries and enterprises established through hard work, members of the community provide employment to many people. They also play leading roles across various fields.

Maharaja Agrasen Ji inspired people to work for the upliftment of the most disadvantaged sections of society. His principle of “one brick and one rupee” remains a unique example of mutual cooperation and self-reliance, the Governor said.

Deka added that Maharaja Agrasen Ji taught society the importance of acquiring knowledge from everyone and giving generously to others. He urged the younger generation to uphold traditional values rather than focus solely on achieving quick success.

The Governor also highlighted the Aggarwal community’s tradition of carrying forward family businesses. Referring to the contribution of Jyoti Prasad Agarwala to the growth of Assamese cinema, he said that a better society could be built only through the participation of everyone.

Chhattisgarh has immense potential for industrial and commercial growth, Deka said, adding that if the Aggarwal community capitalised on these opportunities through its business ventures, it could generate employment for many people.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the Aggarwal community would have a significant role in the development of a prosperous and developed Chhattisgarh. He observed that the community had consistently been at the forefront of philanthropic activities.

Whether organising health camps, serving and protecting cows, building community guest houses, conducting mass marriages or providing free education, the Aggarwal community has consistently come forward to serve society, he said.

The inauguration of an ambulance for cows on the occasion was another reflection of the community’s spirit of service, the Chief Minister added.

Sai said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had set the goal of building a developed India by 2047. In a similar spirit, the Chhattisgarh government was working in mission mode on the basis of a vision document to build a developed state.

The state government aims to increase Chhattisgarh’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) from ₹5 lakh crore to ₹75 lakh crore, he said. Chhattisgarh is richly endowed with natural resources, including minerals, forest produce, electricity and water. The Aggarwal community has been making an important contribution to the state’s progress through its entrepreneurial efforts and hard work, he added.

Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said the Aggarwal community contributed significantly to social welfare while also creating employment opportunities. Maharaja Agrasen Ji, he said, had given society the message of equality and self-reliance.
