Mahatma Gandhi’s Ideas of Swadeshi and Self-Reliance are Being Taken Forward by PM Shri Modi : CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India’s democracy is establishing its distinct identity across the world. Taking forward Mahatma Gandhi’s ideas of Swadeshi and self-reliance, the country is fulfilling its resolve of a self-reliant India through Make in India and Made in India. CM Dr. Yadav was addressing the gathering after paying floral tributes to the statue of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi at Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre on Gandhi Jayanti. CM Dr. Yadav also paid floral tributes and paid homage at the statue of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna awardee late Lal Bahadur Shastri at Old Vidhan Sabha Square on his birth anniversary.

CM Dr. Yadav said that it is a matter of good fortune and pride that today we are celebrating the birth anniversaries of two great heroes of the country’s freedom. Mahatma Gandhi gave the message of Swadeshi, self-reliance and nation-building, while late Lal Bahadur Shastri established the ideals of simplicity, honesty and service to the nation. The thoughts of these great personalities continue to inspire the country to move forward even today. CM Dr. Yadav said that during the rule of a particular political party in the country for a long period, thinking of the British and the legacy of their systems were carried forward. Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, continuous efforts are being made to make the country self-reliant by promoting Swadeshi. Prime Minister Shri Modi has constructed the country’s new Parliament with the spirit of Swadeshi.

CM Dr. Yadav wholeheartedly appreciated the valour and humanitarian spirit of Indian-origin Captain Smit Machhar. He said that Captain Smit displayed exceptional courage without caring for his own life to save the lives of Israeli passengers on a passenger aircraft. His act is the finest example of humanity, devotion to duty and courage. The Chief Minister said that along with saving lives of passengers, Captain Smit also played an important role in foiling the nefarious designs of terrorists. His courageous and glorious act has made every Indian hold their head high with pride. Prime Minister Shri Modi has also congratulated Captain Smit Machhar on behalf of people of the country.

CM Dr. Yadav said that Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Shah will visit Bhopal, capital of Madhya Pradesh, on October 3. During the visit, the Gopalak Conference will promote milk production in the state, while the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) will promote skill development among the younger generation. The state will receive several gifts in the form of various development works, including inauguration of the statue of Swami Vivekananda at the main IISER campus located in Bhauri, Bhopal. CM Dr. Yadav said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Modi and leadership of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah, Madhya Pradesh has become Naxal-free. Our state is now moving towards freedom from drug addiction. On this occasion, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare Shrimati Krishna Gaur, MLA Shri Rameshwar Sharma, Shri Bhagwandas Sabnani, Bhopal Mayor Shrimati Malti Rai, former Union Minister Shri Suresh Pachouri, District President Shri Ravindra Yati and several other public representatives were present.
