Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister says coalition government is focusing on rural development, welfare and attracting industries while accusing opposition forces of attempting to derail progress
Amaravati, Sept 2026 : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said his government would not tolerate any attempt to obstruct development and appealed to people to support initiatives aimed at improving the lives of citizens.
Addressing a public meeting at Ramapuram village in Nellore district during the Palle Panduga-3.0 programme, Naidu said the coalition government was committed to improving the living standards of low-income families. He, however, alleged that certain forces were attempting to create disruption and threatening a “bloodbath” through destructive activities.
Naidu urged people to differentiate between the crises witnessed in the past and the development initiatives being undertaken at present. He also called upon them to distinguish between those who, according to him, criminalise politics and those who use politics to bring about social and economic transformation.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also addressed the gathering.
The Chief Minister alleged that the YSR Congress was continuing to engage in destructive activities and conspiracies despite its defeat in the 2024 elections. He appealed to people to recognise the government's development initiatives while remaining alert to what he described as attempts by the opposition to create obstacles.
Recalling the 2024 Assembly elections, Naidu said the alliance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pawan Kalyan and himself had promised to rebuild Andhra Pradesh. He said voters had given the alliance a historic mandate, with a 94 per cent strike rate.
Naidu claimed that the NDA's momentum had strengthened since the elections and expressed confidence that people would support the alliance in the forthcoming local body elections as well.
Highlighting rural infrastructure, he credited Pawan Kalyan with contributing to the development of villages. Naidu said the previous government had constructed only 880 km of cement-concrete roads in five years, whereas the coalition government had completed 6,500 km in two years.
He said the coalition government inherited a debt burden of around Rs 10 lakh crore but continued welfare programmes despite financial constraints. Naidu attributed the implementation of the Super Six schemes to the government's efforts, Central support and Prime Minister Modi's intervention during what he described as a period when Andhra Pradesh was on “ventilator support.”
Naidu further said the government had restored the “Brand AP” image and claimed industries were now showing greater interest in investing in the state.
He said policy reforms were shifting the state's focus from “Ease of Doing Business” to “Speed of Doing Business.”
Naidu and Pawan Kalyan also launched rural development works worth Rs 11,085 crore.
