Siaha, September 2026: An Orientation Training Programme for 157 Progress Partners selected under Phase-II of the Chief Minister’s Special Package was organised today at the DC Conference Hall in Siaha. District Deputy Commissioner VL Hruaizela Khiangte attended the programme as the chief guest.
Addressing the participants, Deputy Commissioner VL Hruaizela Khiangte congratulated them on being selected as Progress Partners under the Chief Minister’s Special Package, through which the government has identified individuals requiring support and assistance. He extended his best wishes to all the beneficiaries and urged them to work diligently in their respective trades and activities so that their initiatives become successful.
The Deputy Commissioner encouraged the beneficiaries to set an example for others who would receive assistance under the scheme in the future. He pointed out that Siaha is one of the oldest districts in the state and said it was time for the district to strive to become a model for other districts in various fields.
He urged the Progress Partners to recognise that their responsibility extends beyond their individual interests and that they also have an important role to play in the development of Siaha district. Quoting the well-known saying, “God helps those who help themselves,” he advised the beneficiaries to work sincerely and in a manner worthy of receiving the government’s support.
The Deputy Commissioner also stressed that beneficiaries should not merely look at the success enjoyed by others but should learn from the hard work, dedication and efforts that have contributed to their achievements.
Resource Person Reuben T. Kompa, DD, DLEO, Siaha, explained the Bana Kaih initiative during the programme. He said the scheme had been designed to contribute to the development of the state and to help Progress Partners become self-reliant by building sustainable livelihoods through their own efforts.
A total of 157 Progress Partners participated in the Orientation Training Programme. Of these, 127 beneficiaries are associated with the Commerce & Industry Department, two with the Sericulture Department, seven with the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, and 21 with the Agriculture Department.
The programme was conducted by Vanlalchhuanliana, SDO (S), while Dr Lalnunfela Chhangte, SDC, delivered the vote of thanks and formally concluded the event.
The orientation programme was aimed at providing selected Progress Partners with the necessary guidance and understanding to effectively utilise the assistance provided under Phase-II of the Chief Minister’s Special Package and pursue their respective livelihood and development activities successfully.
