Yuva Niti Samvad at Nalanda Public School in Charthawal discusses Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana and proposed Youth Commission

Rural youth highlight the need for sports grounds, skill development and protection of parents’ interests in private educational institutions

Muzaffarnagar, October 2026 : The future of Uttar Pradesh should be shaped by the dreams nurtured by its young generation and the opportunities available to turn those dreams into reality. Young people are not merely a population seeking employment, but the greatest force driving job creation, innovation, sports, technology and social change. With this vision of empowering youth, the scope of dialogue on ongoing schemes and policies is now expanding to the rural level. From the Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana to the proposed Uttar Pradesh State Youth Commission, efforts are being made to align these initiatives with the aspirations and concerns of young people.

As part of this initiative, a Yuva Niti Samvad was organised at Nalanda Public School in Charthawal, Muzaffarnagar. Young participants shared their views on education, employment, sports, skill development, technology and a crime-free environment.

Referring to the Yogi government's youth-centric policies, speakers emphasised that empowering young people and making them self-reliant, while providing them with opportunities, is essential for the state's progress.

Prominent social worker Vichitra Tyagi said, "Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, efforts are being made to translate welfare policies for various sections of society into action on the ground. Young people should recognise their capabilities and use them to contribute to the development of the state and the country. The need is to provide their talent with the right direction and adequate opportunities. Youth should not limit themselves to seeking employment but should also aspire to become job creators."

Social worker Ravi Baliyan said, "Youth are the energy of the nation and its greatest asset. The promotion of sports under the Yogi government's tenure has created opportunities for sportspersons to excel, enabling athletes from the state to showcase their talent at national and international levels and win medals in large numbers."

Advocate Gopalchand Sharma referred to the proposed Youth Commission and said, "Such platforms could play an important role in hearing issues concerning young people and working towards their resolution."

He also highlighted the opportunities available in sports and the facilities provided to sportspersons. He urged young people to make constructive use of the internet and digital platforms so that technology could serve as a tool to enhance their knowledge, skills and career prospects.

Social worker Vipul Tyagi said, "Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, action against mafias and criminals has been made a key governance priority in the state. Controlling crime and upholding the rule of law create an environment in which young people can pursue education, employment and their future with greater confidence."

Dr. Digvijay Singh, founder of the HOPE organisation, said, "The organisation would conduct another 15 to 20 such programmes to bring the problems, ideas and expectations of rural youth to the forefront. The objective of these dialogues is to understand the actual needs of young people and convey their concerns to the government."

He emphasised that youth participation is crucial to the state's development and that aligning their aspirations with the development agenda is the need of the hour.

During the programme, young participants openly shared their needs and concerns. Class 10 student Aarav Tyagi stressed the need for the proposed Youth Commission, saying that an effective mechanism should be established to hear issues concerning young people and address them. Referring to the crime-free environment in Muzaffarnagar, he highlighted the importance of safety in securing the future of youth. Dev Dhariwal also called for the development of sports grounds in rural areas.
