Rajasthan to Set Up District Cells for NRIs; Pravasi Rajasthani Conferences to Be Held Across All 41 Districts

Jaipur, October 2026: Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas has written to all district collectors to establish district-level cells to strengthen communication and engagement with Non-Resident Rajasthanis (NRRs). Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of National and International Pravasi Rajasthani Affairs (DORA), Shikhar Agrawal, has also written to district collectors, urging them to update data on the Rajasthan Development Support Portal (RDSP).

Rajasthan Foundation Commissioner Manisha Arora held a video conference with concerned district officials to review progress on the directions issued by the Chief Secretary and the Additional Chief Secretary.

The meeting reviewed the formation and functioning of district-level Pravasi Cells, the NRR database, grievance redressal and work related to the RDSP. Officials were given necessary instructions to expedite these initiatives.

It was announced that programmes would be organised in all 41 districts of Rajasthan as part of Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas. Non-Resident Rajasthanis will also be honoured at the district level during these events.

Focus on District Cells and Database Updates

The meeting emphasised making district-level Pravasi Cells fully operational and regularly updating the database of Non-Resident Rajasthanis.

Data on overseas and non-resident Rajasthanis available with the Rajasthan Foundation has already been shared with district administrations. District officials will expand the database by adding new information and details.

The meeting also discussed the time-bound resolution of complaints received through the Sampark Portal and email, along with the proper maintenance of records of grievances and their disposal.

Progress in updating data on the Rajasthan Development Support Portal was also reviewed.

Officials were further encouraged to document the social contributions of Non-Resident Rajasthanis by publishing district-level booklets and coffee-table books. The initiative aims to highlight the contributions of Rajasthanis living outside the state and strengthen their engagement with their home districts.

Coordinators Appointed for Every District

The Rajasthan Foundation and the DORA Department have appointed coordinating personnel for every district. These officials have visited almost all districts, and their contact numbers have been shared with district administrations to facilitate coordination.

The Rajasthan Foundation Commissioner has also written to all district collectors regarding these arrangements.

During the video conference, presentations were made on the activities and initiatives of the DORA Department and the Rajasthan Foundation. Questions and concerns raised by district officials were addressed, and clarifications were provided.

The initiative aims to establish a more effective mechanism for engaging with Non-Resident Rajasthanis, maintaining an updated database, addressing their grievances and recognising their contributions to the development of Rajasthan.
