Micro and small enterprises to receive a flat factory rent subsidy of up to Rs 30,000 per month under the MH-RAMP scheme

Mumbai, October 2026: Eligible micro and small manufacturing enterprises in Maharashtra will receive a factory rent subsidy equivalent to 30 per cent of their actual monthly rent or Rs 30,000 per month, whichever is lower, Maharashtra Small Scale Industries Development Corporation Commissioner and Managing Director Prerana Deshbhratar said.

She said the initiative would help reduce the financial burden of factory rentals and create a more supportive and conducive business environment for micro and small enterprises in the state.

The Maharashtra Small Scale Industries Development Corporation is the nodal agency for the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) programme being implemented in collaboration with the Government of India and the World Bank. Under the programme, the Flatted Factory Rent Subsidy Scheme has been introduced to reduce establishment and operational costs for micro and small enterprises.

Deshbhratar said the subsidy would help both new and growing manufacturing enterprises strengthen their business operations, expand their activities, adopt innovations and create sustainable employment opportunities.

She said the Maharashtra government was committed to strengthening the foundation of the state's micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector and creating greater opportunities for inclusive industrial development.

Micro and small manufacturing enterprises with valid Udyam Registration and meeting the eligibility criteria specified under the scheme's guidelines will be eligible to avail the subsidy. Applicant enterprises must operate from premises located in a Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) area, a private industrial estate or privately owned premises.

The scheme also provides reservations for specific categories, including 25 per cent for women-led enterprises, 7 per cent for enterprises belonging to Scheduled Castes and 2.5 per cent for Scheduled Tribes.

The initiative is expected to promote the formalisation of enterprises, improve the utilisation of industrial infrastructure, strengthen entrepreneurship and contribute to the sustainable growth of Maharashtra's MSME sector.

The Maharashtra Small Scale Industries Development Corporation has invited applications through the MH-RAMP portal. Applicants are required to submit documents including Udyam Registration details for the period from 2020 to 2025, a valid registered rent agreement, PAN and GST certificates, turnover details, income-tax returns or a certificate from a chartered accountant regarding the balance sheet, electricity bills and proof of having at least five employees.

Interested enterprises can access the detailed guidelines, eligibility criteria and application process through the MH-RAMP Portal – Rental Subsidy Scheme or scan the QR code provided for the rent subsidy scheme.

The initiative is aimed at easing the fixed operating costs faced by smaller manufacturing units and enabling them to channel greater resources towards business expansion, productivity, innovation and employment generation.
