Six Project-cum-Resource Centre Buildings Approved Through Efforts of Minister Laxmi Rajwade

Buildings to be constructed in three districts at a cost of Rs 2.70 crore; infrastructure upgrade to strengthen departmental services and implementation of welfare schemes

Raipur, October 2026: The Chhattisgarh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, is continuously working to ensure that welfare schemes for women and children reach beneficiaries at the grassroots level with adequate infrastructure.

In this direction, the efforts of Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade have resulted in the approval of construction of buildings for six Project-cum-Resource Centres across the state.

The state government has granted administrative approval of Rs 2 crore 70 lakh 90 thousand for the construction of these buildings. It has also agreed to release Rs 67 lakh 72 thousand 500 as the first instalment during the financial year 2026-27.

The new buildings will be constructed at Bhaiyathan and Odgi in Surajpur district, Tamnar in Raigarh district, and Bijapur, Usur and Bhopalpatnam in Bijapur district. An amount of Rs 45.15 lakh has been sanctioned for the construction of each building.

The Women and Child Development Department implements several schemes and services related to the development, health and nutrition of women and children, as well as the protection of their rights and interests.

Project-cum-Resource Centres play an important role in implementing these schemes at the grassroots level, coordinating departmental staff and monitoring the delivery of services. Construction of buildings suited to present-day requirements will provide better and more organised facilities for carrying out departmental activities.

The approval is not limited to infrastructure development; it is also an important step towards improving the delivery of women and child welfare services. Better facilities will help departmental personnel implement schemes more efficiently and carry out activities related to beneficiaries.

The improved infrastructure is also expected to make government welfare schemes and services more accessible to women and children. Strengthening departmental operations in remote and rural areas will help ensure that public welfare initiatives reach people in a more organised and effective manner.

According to the government order, proposals for the release of subsequent instalments must include a utilisation certificate for the first instalment, along with details of the physical and financial progress of the construction work.

The sanctioned funds will be utilised within the prescribed expenditure limits and in accordance with applicable government rules.
