Telangana to Inaugurate Central Kitchens for Government School Breakfast Scheme on December 9

Hyderabad, Oct 2026 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday announced that all central kitchens being established to provide nutritious breakfasts to students of government schools across the state will be inaugurated on December 9.

The Chief Minister directed officials to complete construction and other works related to all the central kitchens by November 30. He also instructed authorities to make arrangements for schoolchildren to visit the kitchens so that they can understand how their meals are prepared and supplied.

Revanth Reddy further directed officials to connect all the central kitchens with the Integrated Command and Control Centre in Hyderabad to enable regular monitoring of their operations and ensure proper implementation of the breakfast programme.

Representatives of the Hare Krishna Foundation met the Chief Minister at his Jubilee Hills residence on Friday. During the meeting, Junna Solar Systems Private Limited and Chain Labs India Private Limited signed agreements with the foundation to support the breakfast scheme for students of government schools.

As part of their contribution, the two companies have collaborated with the Hare Krishna Foundation to establish modern centralised community kitchens in Nagarkurnool and Vikarabad districts.

Speaking at the programme, Revanth Reddy stressed that students must be provided with quality and nutritious food. He said the primary objective of the breakfast initiative was not only to ensure that children receive adequate nutrition but also to encourage them to attend school regularly.

The Chief Minister suggested maintaining a comprehensive database of students enrolled in government schools. Such records, he said, would help authorities monitor the physical growth and academic progress of students on a regular basis.

He also called for the development of an application that can calculate the calorie content of the food served to students. The Chief Minister reviewed the breakfast menu and suggested that meals should be prepared in accordance with regional dietary habits and preferences.

Describing the breakfast initiative as a long-term programme, Revanth Reddy said it required sustained attention and careful implementation to ensure that its objectives were achieved.

Junna Solar Systems Private Limited CMD Shekhar Reddy and CEO Anil Babu handed over a cheque of Rs 5.17 crore to the Hare Krishna Foundation towards the establishment of the centralised community kitchen in Nagarkurnool.

Similarly, Chain Labs India Private Limited representative Samantha Day and Vice-President B. Santosh Kumar presented a cheque of Rs 4 crore to the foundation for the construction of a modern centralised community kitchen in Vikarabad.

The Chief Minister appreciated the representatives of both companies for extending financial support to the breakfast scheme and contributing to the establishment of the central kitchens.

Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Rajya Sabha member Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary S. Sridhar and Hare Krishna Foundation representative Satya Gaura Chandra Das Swami were among those present at the programme.
