Amaravati, Aug 2026 : YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MLC Parvathareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy has demanded an immediate CBI investigation into what he described as the “Mega DSC-2025 scam” in Andhra Pradesh, calling for the resignation of State Education Minister Nara Lokesh to ensure an impartial probe.
Chandrasekhar Reddy clarified that the YSRCP was not seeking cancellation of the District Selection Committee (DSC) examination or the removal of candidates who had already been appointed. Instead, he said, the party was demanding a comprehensive investigation into alleged irregularities and justice for deserving candidates.
Addressing a press conference at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, the MLC alleged that the case involving Purama Naveen raised serious questions about the conduct of the examination. Naveen, an outsourcing employee at the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), which is involved in question-paper preparation, reportedly secured first rank in one category and sixth rank in another.
Chandrasekhar Reddy claimed that candidates had produced evidence suggesting that question papers were circulated among students and coaching centres before the examination. He further alleged that similar connections had surfaced in Madanapalle, Ongole and other districts involving individuals linked to question-paper preparation, coaching centres and candidates who secured high ranks.
The MLC also alleged widespread irregularities in recruitment under the Sports Quota. He claimed that certain government orders were framed in a manner that enabled candidates to bypass examinations and alleged preferential treatment for sports federations and associations.
According to him, participation certificates were allegedly used for appointments despite inconsistencies in the documents submitted by candidates. He claimed that some candidates had uploaded certificates showing different levels of achievement, while documents belonging to different individuals were allegedly combined. He also questioned the acceptance of certificates without proper signatures.
Chandrasekhar Reddy further alleged that sports quota certificates uploaded to the government website were subsequently altered after YSRCP president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy raised concerns over the issue.
He also raised questions over the implementation of Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) requirements, vertical and horizontal reservations and the normalisation process. The MLC alleged that marks were increased by as much as six in certain examination sessions, arguing that even a fraction of a mark could determine a candidate’s selection.
He claimed that candidates who raised objections to the alleged irregularities were instead subjected to police cases, including over activities during peaceful protests.
Chandrasekhar Reddy said the YSRCP would raise the alleged DSC irregularities strongly during the forthcoming session of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council.
Reiterating the party’s demand for a CBI investigation, he said an independent inquiry would establish the truth and determine whether any wrongdoing had occurred. He maintained that the Education Minister should step aside to ensure that the investigation is conducted without political or administrative influence.
The YSRCP leader said the party’s objective was not to disturb the careers of legitimately selected candidates but to ensure that any deserving candidates who may have been denied justice receive a fair opportunity.
He urged the government to allow an independent investigation into all the allegations and said the findings should determine responsibility and corrective action.
